Well tomorrow will be a very long day for some and my bet is on House Republicans who will have few answers for all the money and time they spent. Get ready for the summer of nothing.
"The GOP-led House Select Committee on Benghazi will release on Tuesday its final report about the handling of the 2012 terrorist attacks in Libya, according to Bloomberg.
The committee, helmed by Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), will hold a news conference at 10 a.m. in Washington, D.C. The panel was originally scheduled to release the report by the beginning of summer.
On Monday, Democrats on this committee released their rebuttal ahead of the GOP report.
That report aimed to refute allegations expected to be made by Gowdy in what Democrats have long claimed is a partisan witch hunt.
“We are issuing our own report today because, after spending more than two years and $7 million in taxpayer funds in one of the longest and most partisan congressional investigations in history, it is long past time for the select committee to conclude its work,” Democrats said.
Four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, died in the Sept. 11, 2012, militia attacks at a diplomatic facility and nearby CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya.
Bloomberg reported Monday night that the report will likely discuss whether President Obama’s administration misled Americans about the incident and if presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, who served as secretary of State at the time, should be held responsible for insufficient security.
