The sons of Putin’s elite are kept safe while ordinary Russians become cannon-fodder

There are two tiers in the Russian army, and only a privileged few can benefit from a placement away from the front lines
15 May 2024 ~~ By George Allison

A class disparity has emerged within the Russian military, contrasting the fates of ordinary soldiers and the privileged elite. This divide has ignited widespread anger and criticism, even among top-level troops who feel betrayed by their leadership during the ongoing battle over Ukraine.
In a recent intelligence update, the UK Ministry of Defence detailed the existence of a specialised military unit, “Bars Kaskad,” designed to recruit individuals from affluent and influential Russian families. This unit, primarily engaged in drone operations far from the front lines, offers a markedly different experience from the harsh realities faced by ordinary Russian soldiers.
The simmering discontent reached a boiling point when soldiers from the 155th Naval Infantry Brigade, an elite corps of the Russian army, published an open letter condemning their superiors for using them as “cannon fodder” in Ukraine.

this disparity has not gone unnoticed amongst the rank and file. Ordinary Russian soldiers bearing the brunt of the conflict can see their elite counterparts enjoying relative safety and privilege. The stench of cynicism is exacerbating the morale crisis among Russian troops.

In one instance, Alexei Blinovsky, the husband of Russian influencer and blogger Yelena Blinovskaya, joined Bars Kaskad to avoid legal repercussions over her tax evasion and secure her release.
The use of ordinary Russians as “cannon fodder” while the privileged few secure safe billets in units like Bars Kaskad exemplifies the deep-seated inequalities that persist in Russian society as a whole. As ordinary soldiers continue to face the brutal realities of war, the elite’s ability to opt-out of danger raises serious questions about how long Moscow can continue to mistreat ordinary citizens before facing a revolt.

Commentary:
I happy that Russians citizens are waking up to the truth about elitism and see that there's a two tiered system even in Marxist Socialism.
This is not just done in Russia, but virtually every country.
Remember, In USA not only are draft dodgers kept safe and given presidential pardons. they even become presidents
Elitism is not is not just exclusive to Russia, we in America do the same. Remember those politicans in the U.S. that avoided the "Draft" or became false hero's.
As an example Democrat politicians making statements that were false or misleading about their own military service during the Vietnam War, or making sure their sons were secured in rear echelon jobs.

My daily of choice up to 15 years ago -- Sport , Bridge and the Cryptic -- but have never read MSM since .

The Telegraph has an important role to play for the Government ( Deep State, Cameron and Sunak etc ) and our Intel Agencies -- it is a prime influencer asset .

But it is Deep State and for the 1% fans and has jobs to carry out which it is obligated to meet .
Like this soppy article .
