Yes, it is disgusting. Kids are cruel.

I've been on both ends, though not systemic per se from one person and whenever I bullied it was usually in a joking verbal manner and never violent when I bullied, though I was the victim of being jumped and other violence (outside of what my dad unleashed). Part of it was being poor and kids knowing you are poor. Other times it was just being raised in an area I never should have been raised in. Sadly you learn to adapt or suffer.

I was fortunate to survive based on either fighting back or using mechanisms to avoid the confrontation. Not all kids can do that, nor should they have to do this. If I were a teacher and saw bullying I definitely would not allow it and that kid and their parents would hear from me. If they didn't change their behaviour there would be consequences, especially if it lead to a kid killing themselves over it.

Kids have no recourse, teachers, and administrators don't want to listen, and kids can't fight back. If teachers do listen and reprimand the bully it gets worse for the bullied, let them take care of themselves like it used to be, bring back paddling, also we have tried the social activist way of no tolerance, and I have no tolerance for it. My boys were instructed to leave it alone at school and take care of it after school!

I also have some questions, like what form of suicide was used. You can tell it wasn’t a gun because they would have lead with that information. What did the medical examiner find and rule as the case of death. There seems to be something off with this story there is something we are not being told IMO.

Themselves. Certainly the times are different now. All the kids were shopped around to verious parents any given day of the week when I was a kid, and they all had full authority for discipline.
There was no "Oh no, you cain't whoop my kids" when I was a kid.
Discipline was enforced with all the families. If they were the chaperone of the day, they were in charge and had full authority and permission to do what needed to be done and medical instructions if needed and whatever.
A system like that takes the pressure off of any one adult having to deal with all the kids too often.
That not being done in modern times is kind of a breakdown of society.
All the different parents came up with different activities so we all got a bit of variety, too.
There was about 9-11 of us. And we'd cram into 1-2 cars.

If your kid is being bullied in school you need to hire a lawyer and threaten legal action, directed at the school and the principal and superintendent…..otherwise they will simply do the minimum they have to do……..

I jnew a guy whose son was being bullied…..he went to the school and the assistant principal told him there wasn’t anything more they could do……so….sitting in front of the assistant principal he told his son the next time they attacked him, he was to take his lunch box and hit them in the head……that is when the assistant principal told him if the son did that he would be suspended……and the dad told the principal he would support his son against the suspension….

And the idiots bullying his son cornered him in a bathroom……and he hit the leader with his lunchbox, and was suspended…….but the bullying stopped….

I agree with teaching kids self defense, but that takes time to develop skills, and depends on the child to have the determination to fight back and take the damage….this is on the parents to fight for the kid…..

at this point we don’t know what steps the parents took…or how far along the bullying was…..

Again…if your kid is being bullied…you need to hire a lawyer immediately and put in legal papers against the idiots in charge…….

also…call the police…report it as an assault, and they will have to at least show up………try that angle…..

That is a great story. How can a school do nothing to the bully but can punish the victim when he fights back? This mirrors adulthood when a victim is continuously harmed and/or their life is threatened and the victim gets a gun and protects themselves by shooting the assaulter, then the system takes action by punishing the victim.

Schools can deal with bullying. But it takes money to identify and train teachers and have specialists.
