Aren't we getting ahead of ourselves? Presidential Debates are supposed to be between Presidential Nominees, not front-runners. Since this debate is before the Party Conventions, neither Trump nor Biden will be the official nominees the official nominees of their parties. This scheduling was specifically selected to marginalized RFK Jr and to test Biden's viability as a candidate in November. If Biden fails to improve his poll numbers after this debate, the DNC can name someone else as its nominee.

I'm not sure that it was a good decision for Trump to accept this debate before the party conventions. The Democrats will obviously time their legal and political stunts against Trump to coincide with it, and expectations for Biden's performance are already so low that he can't go any lower. In addition, the format of the debate is designed to minimize any questioning of Biden's frequent misstatements. Instead, the leftists moderators will be given the power to cut off Trump's microphone.

I hope Trump's ego, in quickly accepting this debate timing and format, doesn't lead him into a situation with little or no upside potential.

No matter. If Brandon pulls out of the race, the debate would still have helped place Trump’s performance and commentary under a microscope.

And vice versa.

And if they both withdraw for any reason or reasons, who cares? It will have been a mere waste of time. Not exactly an Earth shaking problem.

A lot can change. The debates may be rescheduled or not happen at all for all we know.

That date is a fortnight after Piss Pot has stepped down or been forcibly retired according to people high up in the food chain .
If true, the Donald would also be fully aware and making the most out of it immediately and daily .

For Piss Pot , and everybody associated with the puppet, it would be a Lose /Lose .

Trump was foolish to agree on Biden's rules for the closed microphone!

Trump has never had to endure verbal abuse without having control of the talking situation. He wouldn't have thought of that when agreeing to the terms on account of his need to show no hesitation.

Trump's handlers will likely have to find a way to withdraw from that part of the agreed terms.

If not then Biden's handlers will instruct Biden on ways to destroy Trump!

Come on, have some respect. Sure, Trump was accused of prostitutes and "golden showers" but that is hardly a reason to call him a piss pot.

Trump may be in prison by November.

That may have entered into his calculus to debate prior to having to surrender himself.

The discussion about the democrats replacing Joe Biden is dumb. Even for you.

I laugh pretty hard at those who say Biden outmaneuvered and trapped Trump in a bad deal. In his book, The Art of the Deal, Trump says negotiation doesn't start until the other side thought they had a done deal. It's why he's the top negotiator in the world. I guarantee if the set up doesn't suit Trump, he won't do it. He'll simply say he didn't agree to the specifics Biden proposed. The leftwing media may howl "Trump went back on his word. He's a bad man". Trump doesn't care. It will be just another of many media attacks on him. This is what happens when they cry wolf so many times.

In fact, the Presidential Debate Commission has not heard from either campaign, per CNN this morning.
