Workers used to only have a month to prepare for an upcoming union election. Now it's only 14 days notice before a vote on a union is held. And employers have to hand over personal employee information to unions. There should be a way to opt out if you don't want to be hounded by bullies at home and work. This is so wrong. It's not any of the unions business where people live. They should stick to putting up posters at the workplace or handing out fliers but unions should not be allowed to contact people at home or have access to their phone numbers or email addresses. This is bullshit. The government is helping unions bully people.

"Also, employees will have no say in whether their personal information is handed over to unions. For instance, an employer is now compelled to provide unions with workers' home addresses, personal telephone number and email addresses, work locations, shift schedules and job classifications within two days of an election agreement."

The National Association of Manufactures is just looking out for the little guy.

I find it creepy that people you might want nothing to do with are allowed to obtain your home address and phone number. And you know the union thugs will be calling or, worse, coming by to twist your arm.

Government seems to be doing everything in their power to make it easier for unions to railroad people into joining. They are allowing for less notification time before elections and all access to workers' personal information. I'd be pissed if any of them contacted me at home.

Unions are just like Government. They are for good intentions but it's up to We The People to figure out who has good intentions and who is just a profit junkie.

If I remember right, Unions hit a record low when the Great Depression hit (6%). Crazy how under Bush he announced, "A depression bigger than the great depression" when Unions hit 6% again.

Unions are nothing more than people gathering together noticing their work is worth MORE. Unions see fat cats keeping all the profits off of their work instead of paying "a fair days wage for a fair days work".

Unions aren't bad and Government isn't bad. If you think Government is bad you hate the Constitution BECAUSE THAT IS GOVERNMENT.

Hey Clem, here's an idea. Don't go to work for a company that has a union representing the work force.

Your "problem" is solved. And all the other union haters should follow this same advice. You don't want to work for a unionized work place? Then don't.

But quit fucking telling others who DO WANT to work for a union that they should stop wanting union representation.

Who do you think you are?

Management has all the power in a Unionizing election, they have all that information and have been known to use it to intimidate their workers. Management is very much a bully in these situations spreading fear of job loss and plant closure should the election succeed all the way up to anonymous threats to organizers on their home phone. Even with this disclosure unions are at severe disadvantage, you should be happy, American workers are on their way to being as fucked as the Chinese as labor law gets chiseled away by big business.

The government is actually making it more difficult for unions to exist. I find it absolutely disgusting that National Association of Manufacturers has sunk to this level of utilizing fear.

Unions have no right to my information. And you have no right to force me to join any union or be subjected to one simply because i want to work. Card Check was told to pack sand and I agree with it being thrown out. The union has no right to contact me after work hours or to intimidate me at my home or my personal email.

You want to try and sell me on your communist union, who tells you how to vote, what jobs you can do, and chastise you if you happen to want to help your employer succeed. Do it during working hours at the same place you want to force socialism and central control. Unions initially had a good purpose but like all political things morphed into totalitarian organizations who give primarily to democrats despite my objections. Its my money they should spend it as I see fit not the how the collective political whores demand.

We booted the union where I was employed some years ago. Best thing we have ever done. I bargain for my compensation package and i do considerably better than any union, but then again I work and work hard to make the buisness succeed.

Teacher unions have done nothing but hold on to substandard teachers and socialists who see it as their only hope of keeping that job because of their inability to teach and failures. Our kids now get taught socialism and how to keep the handouts coming.. A Total Failure from all aspects.

You can take your union and shove it!

Alarmism is the socialists weapon of choice. They create fear and then magically come up with a solution which deprives you of your rights. Create fear and they then have the magic cure... More of stupid..

Yeah, those damn state trooper union thugs keep calling me to donate money to their cause, as if they don't already get more than they need...

Ebola, 9------11-----..

Union foes like to say that unions were once a good thing but no more. As working class wages continue to decline, benefits shrink, vacations disappear, unpaid overtime is on the rise and job security is an old-fashioned concept I wonder how far things have to slip towards the wage slavery of the third-world before they become necessary again. Anyone care to comment on that?

Idiot. Unions are targeting companies that don't have unions. They bully companies into allowing a vote so employees can decide whether they want one. They reduced the time people have to think about it and then they bother everyone and intimidate them to vote for it.

The point of this thread is that unions have been given permission to contact you at your home. That is wrong.

The issue is that they have been allowed 2 weeks for an election. The fear is just propaganda. Which is really funny because I doubt that you have anything to do with unions currently. You just want to make sure nobody else does either.

NAS a smaller version of Service Workers United... and yes their whole base model is socialism.

The major reason we have had a decline in incomes is your liberal democrat congress of the last 8 years and the idiot you put in the white house who is making the cost to do buisness "to necessarily skyrocket" .

How long will a buisness that is struggling last when it is forced to pay increased wages and all the taxes you liberal idiots have placed on them?

Wrong answer, Cornflake. Wages have been stagnant for 30 years. The unions have pretty much been destroyed. It's been a game of accept what they pay you or they move overseas so they can pay someone $2.50 an hour.

After making a donation to the DCCC, I started getting calls from Republican PACS and groups!

Oh, yeah, and data mining and using political cookies so that they can figure out how to market to you.......when they call you. Both parties use that.

Union thugs, unions telling membership how to vote. I've been in a couple unions and never experienced this myself. Conservatives sure hate unions. Just like hitler did.
