This is a question often asked by liberals journalist/activists when interviewing a person who believes that the second amendment is actually for the security of a free state. Self-defense from a government that turns to tyranny is a key part of preserving democracy. This question often stumps pro-second amendment politicians, which I don't get.

The correct answer is this: Certainly I would kill an American, if he or she is breaking into my home to harm me or my family. They took their lives into their hands and put them in forfeit.

Same for a government official, law enforcement officer, or military enforcing martial law, if they show up to my house to take my guns, take my children because I disagree with their school counselor who wants them put on puberty blockers, or take my printing press or computer because they are enforcing a new anti-free speech law.

If any American accepted the mission to come to my house to violate my rights, they put their lives in forfeit. That was their decision, not mine. If their commander did not explain that to them, they were lied to.

I don't care if they are a proud child of first generation immigrants, or if they are life members of the Daughters of the American Revolution and descended from the Mayflower. Either one is equally American, and either one should be ashamed of themselves for acting in such an un-American way when their forefathers sacrificed to give them the opportunity to live in a free country.

The hypocrisy I find in this argument. I have NO problem with people defending themselves from the government trying to strip people from their rights.

Oddly in many cases when people fight back the argument is to simply allow the government do it and hope you can straighten it out in the courts.

What actions might someone take that would abrogate their right to free speech or owning a gun? What actions might someone take that would convince you that their children SHOULD be removed from their care?

What actions might someone take that would abrogate their right to free speech
Hard to imagine such an action, for this reason: The worse someone's speech is, the more we should want it exposed to public hearing. If Stormfront spews supremacy, we want them to have the forum to do that very publicly, so we know who they are. We don't want to drive them underground and give them a reason to believe they are the oppressed by censoring them.

If someone is publishing, or possessing child porn, for example, prosecute them for participating in the sexual abuse of a minor. Here's the problem with prosecuting them for the publishing itself: There are textbooks, exposed by concerned parents, or "domestic terrorists" as Team Biden calls them, which contain images that are child pornography by any definition. See the book "Gender Queer," for an example. Parents are often ejected by police from school board meeting for reading aloud books that are routinely provided to their children. I would hate to see parent be labeled a sex offender for publishing images books that his child brought home from the school library, or for reading a sexually explicit passage involving child sex to show how disgusting it is.
or owning a gun?
I'm OK with convicted violent felons being banned from owning a gun, since they have had due process.
What actions might someone take that would convince you that their children SHOULD be removed from their care?
Simple. If they commit a crime against their child, that child should be removed from their care once convicted. If the children are unsafe, but the criminal in jail until their trial, so they cannot commit the crime again.

surada I take it you meant to hit the thumbs down? I've done that a few times, myself.

If you thumbs up this post, I'll take it to mean that you thumbs down the above post.

So you don't think people convicted of violent crimes, crimes with firearms, murder, etc, should lose their right to own firearms?
Lol

Trying to say shit I didnt say as a diversion.

They should bevin prison. End your no bail needed bs

If you're willing to shoot someone, you are least suitable person to own a gun. That's why America has problems, unfit gun owners like you. Period.
