Awkward. MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle just had to help Joe Biden remember what he’s talking about after he loses his train of thought

The actually interview before it's chopped is generally well done. You are pointing out a major difference between Biden and Trump interviews. When Biden doesn't recall something, he's honest about it. He doesn't makes up shit like Trump. That why there's a database of 20,000 lies by Trump. .

Don't tell me you really want compare Biden and Trump interviews. Big Mistake

He's actually correct. Death SHOULD be compared to # of cases.. Because THAT's the actual measure of the QUALITY of medical intervention.. And also -- our Deaths compared to 100,000 has been pretty impressive as well.. We're 10th worse.. There's only about 30 countries hit hard.

Don't think too many people ACTUALLY know enough to "FACT CHECK" this..

Yes comparing positive cases to deaths is a good way to measuring the effectiveness of medical intervention. However, I think what both the interviewer and America public want to know is how did a country with only 4% of the world population, and probably the best healthcare infrastructure in the world, end up with 20% of the deaths and 22% of the cases. The answer is obvious but it's not going to come from Trump.

There are at least 3 measures of pandemic mortality..

1) Deaths / 100,000 -- Kinda as meaningless as comparing Omaha to NYCity.. Or Canada to England. Because DENSITY of population and way of life AFFECT this number greatly in a pandemic.

2) Deaths./INFECTION -- VERY good metric in lieu of the one above. If a nation doesn't TEST AS MUCH -- tough shit to them -- they have NO IDEA how widespread the virus has gotten in their piddling country and can't identify "hot spots"..

3) Deaths/Case -- a subtle difference that ONLY looks at folks that SEEK medical attention for the disease.. Also called "case mortality rate".. THIS measures the QUALITY of treatment and is the MOST important to people in vulnerable groups.. Says MORE about your chances of SURVIVING the disease -- than EITHER of the above...

So Trump wanted to quote case mortality rates... The obnoxious know-nothing journalist arrogantly insisted there is ONLY CORRECT STATISTIC.
. The journalist is the one who should be ashamed.. Shows lack of preparation on HIS part -- not Trump..

More "GOTCHA" journalism ambushes every day... For the benefit of the ignorant and the poorly informed...

No matter how you cut it, the US, the best prepared nation in the world according John Hopkins has the worst performance of all the larger nations. If you look at deaths per hundred thousand US and Brazil are essentially tied for number 1. India will still be 3 lower. Based on percent of world population the US should have a death toll of only about 45,000.

I don't know WHERE your getting that. Last time I looked we were 8th or 9th.. And the countries BELOW 10th place were not very populated at all.. Don't believe "we're tied for number one"..

John Hopkins has an interactive bar chart where you can COMPARE (per 100,000) to (case mortality).. We're 5th on per 100,000.. And right ABOVE MEXICO...

But it you look the important statistical question of "I've got covid, I'm sick, Am I gonna die"? -- Mexico leads the WORLD with a resounding YES.. And we're just maybe barely in the top 10...

NYC got hit hard. About 25% of our fatalities.. Dense big cities that had mayors GOOFING OFF in late march -- early april are "our issue" here...

So Trump wasn't the arrogant idiot this time.. That's what you EXPECT from Axios reporting..

Joe has no vision of his own. He only favors anything that he thinks makes Trump looks bad. That's why he loves the riots, the violence and destruction and the death toll from COVID. Biden wants the economy to fail and Americans to die because he thinks the MSM will be able to blame Trump. Biden describes all of his positions in the same way, "I have a plan". He also describes all Trump's positions by saying, "He doesn't have a plan". This "I have a plan and he doesn't" platform Biden is running on is meaningless. It's also geared toward attracting low information voters. In the end, nobody will ever know what Joe's plan is because he doesn't have one. I just think Joe's handlers are telling him to go with the "I have a plan and Trump doesn't" platform because old Joe would never remember anything more precise. They're keeping it simple because that's all their boy can handle.

Countries whose capability to fight the virus that are far below that of the US are naturally going to have a higher death per capita. The countries with the worst deaths per capita are Peru, Brazil, Spain, and Chili, followed by the US. John Hopkins who ranked the countries most able to respond to a Pandemic ranked the US number one. Peru, Brazil and Chili didn't even make the top 50. Spain was number 37.

When the virus first started appeared outside of China, epidemiologists around the world were expecting the US to be one of the best performing nations in controlling the epidemic as they have been for over half century. However, when they saw what was happening in the US with the president down playing the virus, in fighting between the president and the CDC, test kits failing, and a clear lack of any national plan, healthcare authorities around the world were shocked to say the least. This created a lot of fear. If the US can not control this thing, how can a small country with a fraction of the capability hope to do so.

So why did you fall for the phony issue that the Ipso journalist ASSUMED there was only ONE VALID Covid mortality statistical question? This is why America is falling apart. The MEDIA is no longer responsible researchers and thinkers. THey are "gotcha" tabloid artists. LAUDING SCIENCE and WORSHIPING Global Warming when they don't know the diff between carbon pollution and CO2...

Have no idea what Ipso journalists are but I wouldn't reply if I did because I have stopped defending stereotypes. It's just plain stupid. This may come as a surprise to you but all journalists do not share the same beliefs, skills, nor goals. The same can be said for republicans, democrats, socialists, capitalists, Blacks, Whites, illegal immigrants, citizens, Muslims, Christians, Jews, etc.

Compare the death rate in the USA to those sophisticated EU countries and their Gubmint run healthcare and get back to us......................

Since when does a virus care about your "per capita"......unless you are talking about death "per person" infected.
