He was primarily concerned about communist infiltration in the State Department. Imagine how dismayed he'd be today when he found out they've infiltrated the schools, universities, and all branches of the government, including the presidency under Obama.

The funniest thing is while the American left has for decades unwittingly assisted communism in its spread throughout our institutions, they've suddenly become sunshine patriots because of their belief that some communist country wrecked their election.

Whatever Joe McCarthy was, he wasn't freaking important enough to have an entire era named after him. It was the democrat majority and the Truman administration that created HUAC . Senator McCarthy wasn't even a chairman of a committee much less involved in HUAC. When the mainstream media decided that communism wasn't so bad they were in a bind. Anything is possible if you have the liberal media on your side. Democrats turned on a dime from the racist mob they had been for the better part of a hundred years into a seemingly kinder more plantation orientated party and thanks to the liberal media nobody noticed. Democrats went from anti-communists to quasi socialists in a virtual heartbeat shortly after they abandoned support for the Vietnam war and nobody noticed the change because the liberal media managed to blame a single drunk republican senator for the entire freaking era.
