I dont get how N. Korea is gonna try and act all tough and then just back down and start apologizing and saying it'll resume talks. There has to be something else behind all this for them to be like this ya know? Something we don't know.

The 'apologies' have all come via China. I could certainly be wrong, but I think the Chinese are putting out the info for two reasons: 1. so NK knows what is expected. 2. To get US to back down.

I'm not sure either of the two will work.

Yeah you can't really bite the hand that feeds ya....And China has alot of influence in the region. NK just sucks too bad they couldn't have a melt down just prior to the next nuke test!

I think that's right, which means Bush was correct on refusing unilateral talks (as US Liberals wanted) and insisting on China's involvement.
