Would you mind paying $12,272.73 in taxes every year?

60% of our Government's annual budget is spent giving citizens money in the form of Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, food stamps, child care, school lunches, welfare programs, and etc. This includes the administration of said money payments which is usually about ⅔ of ever dollar given.

Do you have a link for that?

Those ports have taxes and fees our government once lived solely off of.

There was no income tax....only import taxes.

Let that sink in for a bit.

Actually booze taxes were the source of a lot of tax revenue, for both Fed and state govts. Income taxes came from Republicans, during the Civil War.

Leftocrats alway be looking for more ways to rob people of their hard-earned money.

How about "NO"?

How about all those scumbag poor people who don't work but get big tax refunds pay their fair share, and give it back?

When they say 60% of people don't pay federal income tax, that's true.

What they don't tell you is those people pay "payroll taxes." Taxes are removed from their checks before they ever see their pay.

They way they phrase it, it makes it seem like a lot of people are getting a free ride when they aren't.

Social security is the ONLY retirement many many millions of people have. Take that away the country goes into a tailspin the likes of which has never been seen.

You're lost, man. Payroll taxes are paid by employers, not employees. The 60% of people who pay no federal income tax pay NO federal income tax, of any kind. They may pay other taxes, like gas tax, sales tax, etc., but they contribute nothing to the federal government.

And everyone forgets about the taxes they pay on utilities, gas, sales, excise, city, state, and property taxes IN ADDITION to federal income tax.

And that 60% generally gest back more than they paid in. While upper income earners just don't have to pay in as much, because of tax shelters.

Do you see the difference? One group is gifted money already collected as tax revenue (other people's money), while the other group just gets to keep more of their own money.

Besides, that SS IS THEIR OWN MONEY. They worked all their life paying into it. It's not like the gov is handing them something for free.
Railroad retirement is better...
If you have a chance to sign up for it OMG it's like hitting the lottery.
You pay in the same as SS taxes but you actually get a raise when you retire. Just interest payments is all you get and your kids get the principle when you die.

When you get a tax refund at the end of every year, they ARE getting a free ride.

Smart people figure out their tax liability and set their deductions so that they don't give the greedy fucks in D.C. an interest-free loan every year.
