Well of course. This stupid, stupid administration is Maoist at heart. And doing harm wherever it can.

The foxes are in the hen house.

One former senior official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that under President Biden, top officials held meetings on "culture war" issues every week, and sometimes more. The roster of those attending included Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and the secretaries of all the military departments, that official said.

"They never met once on readiness. But they met every week on transgender issues, extremism, racism, sexual assault, sexual harassment, et cetera," a former official said, adding that that the focus likely distracted from Afghanistan planning.

"There's only 168 hours in a week. They were spending all their time on these things, particularly early on. Yes, they were distracted," an official said.

The U.S. military was slow to adjust its withdrawal plans even as the Taliban began taking the country piece by piece throughout the summer, culminating in the fall of Kabul and the seizure of billions of dollars of U.S.-supplied military equipment.

"The political leadership are unfocused on mission. They're focused on just waging a culture war against our service members," an official said.

But the information provided to Fox from insiders comes on the heels of a host of political controversies for the military, such as the White House's appointment of Bishop Garrison to senior adviser and head of the Pentagon’s "Countering Extremism Working Group".

Garrison tweeted in 2019 that Trump backers were supporters of racism, misogyny and extremism. "Support for [Trump], a racist, is support for ALL his beliefs," Garrison argued

Distraction from Afghanistan? We left, there is nothing to pay attention to.

China isn't woke. Russia isn't woke.
China is a mono-culture, with 93% of the population being Han Chinese.

Russia lost her empire because all the other nationalities of the USSR said "Peace, Out!" Not sure we want to emulate her, either.

pknopp You can't possibly mean that! We still have HUNDREDS of stranded Americans and THOUSANDS of Afghans who helped and supported us who are certainly being hunted down by the Taliban. That's just for starters.

The only "Americans" still there are Afghans with American Citizenship who have decided to stay... same with the Quislings who supported us.

The real stupidity of Afghanistan was thinking if we burned enough money over there, they would all come to love Coca-Cola and Democracy and Capitalism. That should have been obvious to not have worked by 2009 or so. Bush, Obama, Trump and Biden all lived in this fantasy world that we were loved over there. The Afghans were just doing what the always do... wait for the invaders to get tired and go home.

The real thing we failed to admit is that your average Afghan agrees with the Taliban on most issues. It's like we never fucking learn, because it was the EXACT same mistake we made in Vietnam. The Ironic thing is today, Vietnam welcomes American tourists and investment.

I hope that person retires from the military... if he is more concerned about a war that was effectively lost a decade ago than the well-being of soldiers, he probably needs to go.

Here's the reality of Afghanistan. Bush fucked up by invading it, then forgeting about it to go after Saddam. Obama tried to right the ship, but frankly, at that point, our efforts were too far gone, as the only people still supporting our efforts were the Quislings trying to steal as much aid money as they possibly could. Trump mostly ignored the problem, signed a treat with the Taliban that effectively sold out the Quislings.

The mistake Biden made was not announcing, "We are out on May 31st. If you are an American and you are still there, it's your own damned fault." Instead he kept delaying the pull out date until the Taliban just got tired of waiting to announce the won the war.

We wanted to leave, and they wanted us gone. Everyone got what they wanted, until they got it.

Names or it didn't happen.

You won't get any argument from me that our country's leadership BOTH DEM and GOP for the last 20 years totally screwed the pooch in Afghanistan. That is a separate subject from the complete insanity of HOW we left with no sensible exit strategy, got 13 Marines killed, handed 80 billion dollars worth of our best equipment and weaponry, stranded thousands of Americans and Afghan supporters (not "quislings") and gave the Taliban world standing as a legitimate government. You can't fuck it up any worse than that.

Okay. Biden didn't give them the billions of dollars in mostly obsolete equipment.. that was Bush.
Biden didn't sell the country out to the Tablian... that was Trump, who negotiated a deal in Doha that excluded the Quislings.
The Taliban has standing as a legitimate government because THAT'S WHO THE PEOPLE SUPPORT. It amazes me we go around the fucking world supporting Democracy and "Self-determination", and then when a country picks a government we don't like, we get out panties in a bunch.

If we wanted to rule Afghanistan as a colonial possession, then we should have started a draft, sent dozens of divisions over there, and ruled it like one. But we would have still had the same problem. We would have been the unwanted foreign invaders, and the people who supported us would be considered traitors. After a Trillion dollars spent and 20 years, the Afghans still pined for the good old days of the Taliban.

Biden was dealt a shitty hand and ripped a bandage off that was left on far too long.

We left our allies to be raped, tortured, and murdered and left our other enemies the chinese a Trillion in precious resources there along with leaving terrorists the equipment to murder thousands.....I think we should be paying attention.

If the Chinese want to piss away trillions of dollars and lives in that hell-hole, let them.

Our "allies" were a bunch of opportunistic quislings who were looking to steal as much as they could before the checks stopped coming. They had 20 years to get their shit together and form a functioning government.
