The fundamental fact that the Left refuses to face is that Blacks and Hispanics are "systemically" inferior when it comes to academic/intelligence criteria. This is not to say that all of such people are individually inferior; there is a bell-curve spread among all demographics, and one will find a percentage of Blacks and Hispanics who are exceptional, but when you look at large numbers of people competing for rewards that are awarded based on knowledge, intelligence, or aptitude, those groups will ALWAYS be markedly underrepresented, when compared to their portion of the overall population.

As for the ABA and the AMA telling professional schools to admit more "minorities" (or whatever word they use), one can only hope that the Bar Exams and the Medical Board exams will weed out those who graduate but are lacking in the requisite knowledge to function in those fields. There are A LOT of Black law school grads now who have never passed the Bar, and may not work as attorneys.

The only way to get proportional representation in areas where excellence is required is to tear down the standards and pretend that they are not valid, or that the test criteria are culturally biased - a claim that has been around for generations and has been debunked time after time.

Now we have the resurrected claim that where Blacks and Hispanics come out on the short end of the stick, it is because of racism. This is preposterous, and disproven daily by the number of Blacks and Hispanics who succeed conspicuously. I guess they just forgot or overlooked the fact that they couldn't get ahead because of their race.

Interestingly, Teachers are the greatest critics of IQ tests, SAT's and the like. Not coincidentally, Teachers, as a group, do rather dreadfully on such tests.
