Trust comes in two flavors, interpersonal trust among friends and family and generalized trust between individuals and institutions like government.

Beginning with the former, how would you answer the following question?

"Generally speaking, would you say that most people can be trusted or that you can’t be too careful in dealing with them.

"1. Most people can be trusted.

"2. You can’t be too careful when dealing with others."

This simple question was conceived in 1956 and has been included in the World Values Survey since 1981.

How you answer might explain a great deal about you view collective institutions like the State.
