A DHS shutdown will start in a few days unless congress OKs funding. Right now democrats are filibustering the bill that would both fund DHS and end executive amnesty. Republicans have the votes to end the filibuster rule and then ratify that bill. The bill would then go to obama and if he vetoes it, the DHS shutdown is his fault . The repubs are in charge here if they will just take charge.

Is security, particuarly border security a top national priority? Isn't supporting ICE and other immigration services the best way to secure our borders?

Or is DHS nothing more than a political football? Is this responsible, thoughtful leadership, or irresponsible grandstanding?

You know that a DHS shutdown can only happen through House initiatives like this clumsy chunk of a waste of time. And you admitted the pure politics of the affair when you though Obama might take the flak over a DHS shutdown.

I do understand how that works. All the congress has to do is send a bill to the senate with all DHS provisions paid for without funding for the illegals. Then let the senate democrats block it. And when they do point at the malls being threatened and how the dems won't fund it because they want illegals to get amnesty and see where that goes. You will get that budget passed in a day if you aren't a pussy trying to appease a bunch of dem assholes.

All they have to do is stand on their principles and the fucking deems have no choice but to cave. DHS funding is now out there for dems to fuck up. Keep the pressure on them. Fund the DHS for American safety or refuse that funding in favor of illegals getting provisions.
