Will Establishment Media Cover Biden as President?
They covered for him to get Trump out of office. Now will they actually start covering him with real reporting?

Having created his presidency, how will establishment media cover President Biden? With the roles so different and so separated, it is easy to forget that establishment media have been instrumental throughout Biden’s three-decade-long presidential quest. In his first two campaigns, establishment media sank Biden by covering him; in his latest, they saved Biden by not covering him. Now with Biden elected, which role will they assume?
The first role establishment media played in Biden campaigns was aggressively direct.
In 1988, during his first campaign, they single-handedly destroyed Biden by revealing a pattern of plagiarism. Initially, revelations showed Biden had lifted portions from a speech by UK Labor politician Neil Kinnock. Then came more: “borrowings” from Hubert Humphrey and Robert Kennedy. Finally, they reported that Biden had failed a Syracuse University law course because he used five pages of a law-review publication without attribution.
~[snip]~
In contrast to their direct role in his first two presidential campaigns, establishment media’s role in Biden’s third presidential campaign has been indirect at best. Instead of essentially covering him to death, this time they effectively did not cover him at all.
In the 2020 campaign, establishment media did not force Biden into any mistakes or awkward encounters. When he blundered, they did not pursue. When they could have destroyed him, following disappointing Iowa and New Hampshire finishes, they held back.
Once Biden had secured the Democrat nomination, establishment media allowed him to retire from scrutiny for six months — despite him being the Democrat nominee and frontrunner. When he finally emerged after accepting formal nomination, they acquiesced to scripted encounters or being relegated to being observers. When encounters did occur, they were notably “soft.”
Now Biden is president-elect. In less than two months he will be president, making him the planet’s most newsworthy person. Will establishment media reestablish a direct role with Biden?
~[snip]~
Competition and demand will dictate coverage, even by establishment media. Coverage will open a window that Biden’s staff and establishment media effectively closed for the last 12 months. And exposure makes the public a participant: Establishment media’s coverage cannot long contradict what the public see.
Finally, it is unclear how much establishment media really care for Biden. They did not particularly in his first two campaigns. This time, his primary attraction for them has been his usefulness in purging Trump. Trump is now gone. Establishment media certainly will not like a continuation of his year-long, arm’s-length campaign treatment of them.
Having covered for Biden, establishment media will have to start covering him, whether they want to or not. It will be interesting to see how much better he fares as president than in his first two presidential campaigns.

Comment:
Surely the Quisling Media, Big Tech and Big Pharma have financed the election of China Joe Biden.
As J.T. Young points out, eventually the exposure to the media can't hide what the public actually sees.
Will the Lame Stream Media allow Biden and his administration arm's-length treatment of them to continue using the excuse of the Chinese Covid Virus excuse, or will they begin exposing Democrats in truthful reporting?

There no longer exists a Free Press in this nation of ours—one which conducts factual, ethical or truthful investigations and then accurately reports its findings to the public or is a watchdog of political and corporate America. All of what used to be our American free and fair press was shattered on the rocks a few moments after Obama was sworn into office in 2008. What we have now are two heads of the same snake. Head #1 is represented by all mainstream cable and print "news" services/outlets, and is wholly 100% corrupt; beholden only to its own vanity and the ritualistic ideology of the radical Left. Head #2 is represented by the likes of OAN and Newsmax and Rebel Media and the like who sell themselves as true media alternatives for conservative consumers but who in reality are also state run wings of the radical American and global Left. A third, much smaller "head" exists as well, in the likes of your You Tube influencers such as Tim Pool and We Are Change who, while not state owned per se are definitely in the "news" reporting game to enrich themselves and increase their social media popularity. So three heads of the same poisonous snake and not a true fact reported among them. That is where we stand nowadays.

Quite obviously. When the butcher rounds up his cattle he always misses a few head. What better way to bring those escapees back into the fold than to allow them to run off to his brother butcher who lives just over the next ridge and claims to be a safe harbor for all cattle?

They will probably look past Biden and ask Harris what her policy thoughts are on an issue.

They'll have nothing but a lovefest for four years, like with Obama. I plan to skip it all.

I already ditch any presser with people talking thru a mask. If they're afraid to show their faces, the heck with them.

Biden and Harris will be 44.2 a love fest. The only thing that will make any of it bearable will be watching the left trying to pretend that they actually wanted the higher taxes and trying to defend the idiots.

The Dem media will lavish praise on President Biden, especially if he follows much of BLM's and Bernie's agenda.

They will especially fawn over his personal qualities in order to show the contrast with the personal qualities of that dastardly Donald J. Trump.

President Biden will be lauded for speaking & acting like a President.

The Dem media will be very, very kind to him.

They will cover up any gaffs & give him the benefit of the doubt in every case.

They will treat him like a beloved and elderly king -- which is what he will turn out to be.

Yes, but not to the extent of coverage of DJT. It is unlikely Joe will be tweeting on the attack at 3 A.M. with the intent of entertaining his base or intentionally antagonizing people that did not vote for him. Nor will he be sticking up for old enemies, dictators and communists on the world stage overseas. Donnie invited the coverage he got, with his own dramatics and his administration personnel, likewise knew that he would look on it a valid support of his style of leadership (if you can call that) if they spoke out as pot stirrers also. B.O. wanted to be no drama Obama, though didn't always pull it off. Joe wants to be the "adults are back in office" president, and will attempt to show how it is supposed to be done, in a country that really needs to re-remember that we are all in this together and serious problems need serious low-key, low drama management style as the order of the day.

Cover for him? They'll have to! They will have to cover for him, feed him lines, explain him, literally put their hand up his ass, make him walk and talk, then explain to us what he really meant.

They will have a full team round-table of experts working full time around the clock on hiding half the things he says and does while trying to explain, spin and creatively make up stories to justify the rest.

Oan and Newsmax are part of the left?
Its every other station than the 2 you mentioned that are of the left.

Joe wants to be the "adults are back in office" president, and will attempt to show how it is supposed to be done, in a country that really needs to re-remember that we are all in this together and serious problems need serious low-key, low drama management style as the order of the day.
bull ! the media started attacking Trump and carried the russia collusion lie for 4yrs ! the msm didnt give the man credit for anything not even the peace deals between Israel and numerous arab countries or operation warp speed that has enabled a vaccine to be produced in record time [and will begin distribution in a few days !] and the economy that he presided over do to his cutting of taxes and regs and better trade deals and record unemployment until the the virus was unleashed by a country that the left or the msm refuse to place any blame whatsoever ! the msm has never been fair to the man ! and the fact that you believe or [claim to believe ] otherwise proves you are not a middle of the line independent !

Well Trump was urging his supporters to at least verbally harrass MSM media reporters at his campaign "events" in 16 HE based his entire candidacy on some sense of grievance against both the gop and dem establishments.

I've posted before that not ALL of his policies were fuck ups. But his personality made any compromise with opponents, or allies, impossible. When he was useful to Moscow Mitch or even Jina, they went along. When not, Trump was left alone with EO.

The gop congress won the 20 election and Trump lost. That wasn't the MSM's doing. People didn't like Trump's act.
