If you look at the graph below about $100b of Welfare cost was added in the last two years. How much of that was fraud?
Should the states manage Welfare along with their unemployment and job training programs?

I'd like to see DOGE get Welfare costs below $300b a year, or better yet, hand it off to the States with block grants for job training.
I'd also put back the 2-year lifetime limit on Welfare.

Welfare/SS fraud is not a priority at the moment. It's small potatoes by comparison to USAID and the State Department.....and other spending.

4 trillion dollars in fraud of our tax dollars between State Department and USAID. The grant money being used to basically line the pockets of a couple dozen lawmakers and grifters.

Welfare reform is State controlled and administrated. That's going to take some doing to clean up. The 4 trillion is much quicker and easier.

I think your numbers are way off. Trump's budgets were $4Tb before Covid hit. Biden's budgets are $7.3T without justification.

I''m for cutting all fraud. As far as aid, I'd rather support Americans needing aid than give it to foreign countries. I think it should be done at state level and have full transparency, nothing should be classified.

I hope so. There are many people who truly need government benefits. Unfortunately, at least 50%, if not more, are just gaming the system. I have been around the poor for decades and have noticed many gaming the system and other business leaders I have talked to have also seen many gaming the system. Those truly needing help need more help that they are currently getting and the reason for that is those other 50% are getting benefits they shouldn't be getting in the first place.

1% of welfare expenses are fraud. And it’s peanuts.

The big fraud is defense contractors. $800 toilets. $500 hammers. 20% of the Budget.

The amount of fraud and waste for poor people is a drop in the bucket compared to defense contractors and corporate freeloaders. Of course musk isn’t going after defence contractors because he is one.

Instead, Musk, and Trump are going after government departments which were investigating and fining Musk and his companies.

$300 million for Teslas useless armoured trucks. He can’t sell them to anybody else, so he sold them to the government.

I will believe these people are serious about about waste and fraud when they take on the defence industry. But I won’t hold my breath, waiting for it to happen.

Also, you don’t find waste and fraud by shutting down the department and firing everyone. You find waste and fraud with a scalpel not a wrecking ball.

This whole process is to shock is the American public so that they won’t fight back.
