Why We Should Increase Taxes?

Hyper-partisan winger site.... a little research into the person behind the site shows how much of a hyper-partisan winger the guy is... that would be like me trying to cite Rush Limbaugh commentary as 'proof' of a stance....
Yeah....no one, here, does that.

Do you help the alcoholic by giving them more alcohol, no, do you free the crack head with more crack, no again....so how do you believe we fix the deficit by giving the spendoholic government more of our hard earned dollars?
....And, what.....you think there are people who magically pay-off credit-card debt, by making MINIMUM-MONTHLY-PAYMENTS.....

....rather-than payin'-out the extra-buck$ to pay-that-card-OFF??!!!!

You probably don't work or have no credit-cards....

What planet are you on? It is real simple, when you spend more than you take in a :eusa_wall: will stop you.....unless you keep robbing my savings.....

Who suggested you make minimum payments? Is that your weak ass argument? This isn't some original idea we are dealing with hear for the answer to this, it is pretty basic math, all they need to do is quit wasting the revenue they already receive, you do know how to use Google, there are about 39,900,000 results on government waste......

Do you fantasize about GWB, is that it? Can't have him so you will blame him for GW, Horizon Platform sinking, Katrina, recession, Obama winning, etc....

Current middle class self employed tax rates:
Social security and Medicare self employed tax-mandatory- 15%.
Federalincome tax rate 20%
State tax rate-Georgia-6%
Sales tax rate 6%

47% is the current middle income tax rate. And you folks want to raise that?
Crazy as hell.

You fucking idiot winger troll.... hmmmm.. if you take in less, and you spend much less on things you don't need, you can still make more payments against you debt

The funny thing is nobody is calling for any huge tax cuts... what WOULD be nice is the ~50% who PAY NO MOTHERFUCKING INCOME TAX NOW to start paying.... equal % taxation on every dollar earned by every citizen of the US for income tax

crawl back under your rock, troll

You have not debated a goddamn thing and you have had your ass handed to you on EVERY point you have made in your little snips and links from winger sources....

You've been bitch slapped on the other site (which was easy to find since you have a propensity for copying and pasting the same shit here that you posted there) by people with any average sort of logical thinking and common sense... and you just landed on a site where you will be exposed for your lies, unfounded stances, and absurd conclusions...

I've dismantled winger arguments from ones better than you... exposing your bullshit is easier than clubbing a baby seal

Anybody that advocates raising taxes in this economic climate is OBVIOUSLY on the government teat! It must be nice to sit at home on your fat ass and blog about raising taxes while the rest of us "producers" insure that there is money in the pot for your check that just majically deposit's itself into your account twice a month!! Everybody in the private sector is starving and looking for work, doing work that they normally wouldn't do, and thankfull to have it!! The term "payroll" to us is synonomous with "freight train" because, regardless of the type of company you have, it stops for no-one!! When you have egg-heads running the country who have never had to meet a payroll, or actually produce a product, it's easy enough to see why the country is headed down the perverbial "shitter"!!! I knew when the "Pres" held his first job summit and he ousted the NFIB and the Chamber of Commerce , and instead invited the unions and fellow egg-heads that he didn't care in the least about creating new jobs!! So do us all a favor and head on over to Greece and soak up the rays of progressive utopia going on over there and stop talking about raising taxes on the rest of us that actually know how to produce something!! It's apparent that your a "smart" person because your somewhat informed on the mechanics of the economy, but why don't you try getting your hands dirty and making something for once other than idiot statements about raising taxes!! It's hard to pay taxes when u don't have a job!!!!!

And that doesn't include gas taxes, state and local government fees (car registration, license plates et all)

aw man, Dave... Accurate but gross. I has a sad now.... but a warm coat.

Here's why we shouldn't try to get rid of the deficit by increasing taxes:

1. The objective is to benefit the economy by eliminating the deficit; iow, to encourage growth instead of contraction.

2. Government taxes things like alcohol and cigarettes to discourage consumption, an acknowledgment that taxing something causes less of it.

3. Therefore, increasing taxes on activities necessary for economic growth will result in less of such economically beneficial activities, and at some point, cause an economic contraction.

4. More Taxes = Worse Economy

But the No. 1 reason we shouldn't try to get rid of the deficit by increasing taxes is that for at least the last 70 years or so, more money in the treasury has not been used to pay down the deficit. It has been used to increase spending and expand the size of government which they do not then decrease and shrink during times of recession.

Apprently, the ONLY way we're going to see smaller deficits is by giving government much less to spend.

Increasing taxes to close the deficit has been tried in California, Michigan, New York, New Jersey, New York City, Philadelphia, and a few other places.
The results are always the same: The increased revenue is used to fund new and expanded entitlements so deficits come back bigger. Additionally companies are driven away to lower tax areas.
This is so obvious that only a liberal/progressive could argue otherwise.
