Why was Mayberry so peaceful on the Andy Griffith show?

PJ still loves and watches that show, almost every day. Not sure there is a diplomatic way for me to share your post with her, but I think it's funny as hell! :auiqs.jpg:
 
Being on the message board, I wasn't feeling diplomatic anyway, so I did share it with her while she was reading out by the pool, and pointing out about Otis being the only married recurring character and him being the town drunk. She said to tell you she can see that, and that she is enjoying a strong whiskey and Coke, while she reads. :auiqs.jpg:
 
They had black people.

None of the women dressed like sluts. The closest they got was Barbara Eden's tight dress in the episode about the manicurist. And some trailer-park behavior by the "Fun Girls". Otherwise, ladies were ladies and nobody needed antidepressants.
Well things could get just slightly rowdy when the Darlings came to town.
