Because they are shaking up the system on both sides. Both of them have drawn attention to the good old boy social club that is the US government. Sure, some good polititions get hurt by it, but to me it's worth it. Lot of folks say the republican party is dying. I say this is a good thing and I will dance on its grave after its gone. The Democrat party isn't in much better shape. I hate both equally as they are both slimy and corrupt. I don't feel it's the end of the Republic. Deep breath folks. It's going to be fine.

The parties are changing, but in different ways.

The voters on the GOP side are changing to non-professional politicians; people that are not part of the good ole boys club.

The left is changing too, but to a worse way of doing things. Sanders is a Socialist if not Communist. He believes in giving everything to everybody and sending the bill to the wealthy folks.

While folks on the right are drifting to people like Trump, folks on the left want more socialism in Bernie Sanders.

Why a Trump-Sanders Race Is Suddenly a Real Possibility

"Of course it’s too soon to predict whether Sanders’ campaign surge is a sign of things to come or a temporary boom that will fade as the campaign moves beyond Iowa and New Hampshire to southern and western regions less hospitable to the independent Vermont senator.

"But it’s no longer possible to dismiss out of hand the possibility of a general election campaign pitting Sanders -- a self-styled democratic socialist who champions the middle class and despises Wall Street – against Trump, a hard edged capitalist who favors tax cuts for the rich, deporting 11.3 million illegal immigrants from the country and temporarily barring Muslim from entering the U.S."
I wonder if it's accurate to say Trump v Bernie would inspire more than four in ten eligible voters to cast a ballot?

I have decided to remain optimistic. my hope is that they inspire folks to look at govrenment in general.

Sanders, meh..I guess so and I really, really wanted to vote for him in the primaries too but couldn't do it.

Trump, No.

I agree you want and need people in politics to shake up the system, but what happens when they turn out to be lying douche bags themselves? (referring to only Mr. T. here) Trump isn't honest or a straight shooter about nearly everything. Beginning with pretending that he is self funding when he's not, he only lent his campaign money and has now hired an ex Goldman-Sachs guy to round up the money for him, he's bought and sold like everyone else in that respect.

He ran really hard on banning Muslims and now it's merely a suggestion and he hasn't even entered the fray with Democrats yet and he folded that quickly?

Wall - not happening.

Trade - Probably his only bright spot but yet his own history let's him down, he ran to China to make his ties, he doesn't care about American workers, says they make too much money and hired foreign workers using the same process he now decries.

He's a fraud and now any newcomer into politics who wants to shake things up has an even more difficult position of having to convince others hes not like Trump.

oh, I do agree. between the two, Bernie is likely the most honest. Trump has surpassed John Kerry in flipflops. in spite of that, Hillery won't lose to Sanders and unless something really bad happens Trump will be running against her and will likely win. there will be four more years of gridlock, then hopefully a leader will be elected from either side.
