Obama's approval rating is misleading. The economy is bad. People are anxious. Any president's approval rating would be bad in this environment.

The Republicans can't run an "unnamed opponent". If they could figure a way to do this, they would, but they can't. Whichever candidate they nominate is already trailing Obama. RCP: vs. Perry + 8.2%; vs. Romney + 3%; Bachman + 14.5%.

The Republican party is dominated by right-wing nut jobs, whose ideology offends most Americans. Examples: booing soldiers for being gay, cheering the idea of letting uninsured people die, etc.

Most of the Republican field is unelectable. If they nominate one of their unelectabes, their chances of beating Obama become negligible.

The Republicans have no plan for improving the economy.

House Republicans are hell bent on proving how dangerous it is to elect Republicans, and how little they actually care about governing.

+3% vs Romney isn't a lot. If he gets thrown out during the primaries...Obama's the odd-on favorite, but still not a sure thing.

If they run romeny they will get a tea party third taking votes out of the game

Nobody's freaking out that I see. Where'd you come up with that random lunacy??

As far as Tea Partiers not choosing Romney as their default...I'm sure they still would. They're so rabidly anti-Obama...they'd never vote for a Kenyan.

Unless they all wrote in Ron Paul and got enough votes to make it happen.

The republicans created this tea party thing so they could win votes and divert the blame they desserved for the utter failures of their Bush team.

They lost control of it and its now dragging them arround by the nose.

They run Romeny and they will NOT be able to stop the likes of Bachman or Palin.

They lost control of their little pet puppy and now its a rotwieiler

Booting Obama will vastly improve the economy.

The People may blame Bush for the mess, but they know Obama can't or isn't gonna' fix it. Maybe you missed the stories about Dems wanting to dump Obama before the Convention?

Fail.

Will the republicans ideas of austerity work?

your little gun cartoon firing away will not keep the tea party on the reservation

Right now, much of what you say is correct. If Perry is my guy, the answer to the Romney pole is meaningless, because I want my guy to win.

As the feild thins and becomes a single option _____ vs Obama more and more Pubs and Indedendants will select the "Candidate other then Obama" ... That any givin chose now is so close to Obama is not a good sign of things to come as the candidates get dropped off on the road to NH.

What you are seeing in the polls is a deluted hatred of what the Prez has done, as more and options vanish from the polls, the numbers will start to rise. Dems aren't predicting doomsday and jumping ship or cutting bait from Obama without reason

Will the republicans ideas of austerity work?

How are Barry's/Dem's ideas working out?

Last I heard, "anyone other then Obama" won with 48% ... that's a scary amount of discontent to have to deal with

The stimulus worked and it needed to be bigger like first planned.

Austerity will not creat jobs.

Look at europe
