The fact remains that almost all states no longer do this. that is the only concession you will get. The reason is clear, the judge needs to be impartial and elected judges cannot be.

I amend the OP, NO FEDERAL JUDGE IS VOTED INTO OFFICE>! Most states do not allow voting for judges.

There is a reason for this as I stated in the OP.

Without this distinction they subject themselves to partisan rulings and not the rule of law.
