The Biden Admin. has been making a big deal about the "success" of the U.S. in airlifting people from Afghanistan?

Why are we conducting an airlift anyway? Why not a huge road convoy? It is how the Russians pulled out? Sure, we don't have a land border with Afghanistan, but Pakistan does. And they are supposed to be allies of us.

You could put far more people in convoys that you can aboard the largest transport aircraft.

Of course the answer is obvious. Convoys would probably be attacked on the move by the Taliban and/or their sympathizers. And above all the Biden Admin. wants to avoid having to engage enemies on the way out.

Geography. They owned the land north of Afghanistan, so they just pulled out the exact same way they went in.

To leave, it would mean leaving through either Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, or Pakistan. And you can pretty much guarantee that none of those countries want a flood of refugees going through their country. Then having to traverse the entire length in the case of Turkmenistan or Pakistan to a harbor where they could be shipped out by boat.

...if you have chopper/etc support, that's good.......depends on if the path has any choke points that are easily defended...but with chopper support/etc, that degrades enemy advantages.....well, they attacked and killed some not using a convoy -- so, what's the difference?
...how long is the drive? pretty long isn't it?
....that don't have just 1 aircraft, but many

Why ask the question then proceed to answer it in the same post?
Your point is?

We don't have allies anymore. Nobody can trust the US now.

It has nothing to do with that.

Imagine some disaster struck Mexico, and Canada offered to take in a million refugees. Do you think the US would be to accepting to convoys carting a million from Mexico were to go across the country to get there?

Afghanistan is land locked, and the only way in is by air or road. And traditionally, movements of large number of refugees have been done by ship.

Repeatedly. Reading what I write is one of my greatest pleasures in life.
I have no doubt but you shouldn't display your classic mistakes as some literacy skill.
It doesn't take much to activate a small brain.

In general, the peoples attacked by the Taliban are themselves peoples close to them, including Tajiks, Turkmen and Uzbeks, and it would be strange if they refused to save them.

I think that they are going to evacuate only those close to them, so air travel is enough for them. They will simply leave the rest of the people to the mercy of the Taliban
