Why is the GOP suppressing voters in Ohio?

I see the need to ensure that military members being given extra opportunity to vote, but why do people who live in districts need extra time? We've got early voting, absentee voting and we can go to polls. And people should know which district to vote in. Why would they go to surrounding districts to cast ballots? It's the right of citizens to vote, but it's up to individuals to exercise that right by following the rules. Why is it that liberals always need extra help and extra time to do something so simple? I can see making allowances for military members who can be called to duty 24/7 and would be denied the opportunity without some leeway, but others already have plenty of time.

There can be no justification for such efforts, and the Ohio example gives the larger GOP game away. They are engaged in a shamelessly partisan effort to deny the ballot to eligible, legitimate voters, and if you have to stoop to tactics like that to win, in a sense you have already lost.

Exactly.

And the ruling makes perfect sense, votes can’t be discounted as a result of a good-faith error on the part of the voter.
