Why I voted Democrat . . .
I voted Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. - I've decided to marry my horse.

I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.

I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

I voted Democrat because Freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

I voted Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they are doing because they now think we are good people.

I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.

I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.

I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.

I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite The Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my ass that it is unlikely I'll ever have another point of view.:clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2:

What??? No liberals flooding to this thread defending their positions. LOL

Just give it a minute, you know it takes them longer to read because of the sad state of public education. Let them catch up and I'm almost certain you'll get some responses.

Or we don't feel the need to respond to some idiotic e-mail fwd that someone thought would be funny to post here.

One or the other.

You nailed me. It's my secret passion to marry a horse. That's why I support same-sex marriage.

There are some conservatives worth tossing ideas off of. You guys just aren't them.

Why bother? At least once a month, someone posts a litany of garbage that basically gets ignored because the statements and/or questions are so obviously lopsided, biased, and can effectively be argued with a few FACTS which you people really don't want to hear anyway.

I grew up Republican and voted for Reagan and Daddy Bush four times. I admired Goldwater, Rockefeller and Romney and thought the Republicans had the best perspective about running the country

Around 1993 there was a Gingrich led shift of the party. They abandoned their desire to compromise, shifted to the far right, embraced the evangelicals
The Republican agenda was once defined by the likes of William F Buckley and George Will. They were intelectuals who defined why their perspective was better than the lefts. In the early 90s they were pushed aside by Rush Limbaugh who substituted half truths, lies and petty attacks for intelectual discussion
Gingrich shut down the Government because his feelings were hurt, The GOP started the Whitewater investigation and an impeachment. Bush came in with a promise of compassionate conservatiism and started a war based on lies, advocated torture and destroyed the economy

This is why I now vote Democrat

Case and point...

Don't Republicans have something better to do than try to deny zoosexuals equality under the law and all the just rights and privileges they have been cruelly denied for so long?

Could be. Or, maybe Rachel Maddow's on now and they're busy trying to set a world's record circle jerk.

Rachel Maddow is on at 9PM (eastern). But I am about to tune in to the rest of Andrea Mitchell's program.
