Why? GOP Investigates Democrats, Obama, Holder but not BP? Why not BP?

Republicans are rushing to investigate Democrats, The President, Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder, but not BP? In fact, they blocked the investigation into the BP fiasco.

Blocking subpoena power in disaster investigative commissions is unheard of. The terrorists crisis, the financial crisis and Three Mile Island commissions all had subpoena power. However, Senate Republicans gave no explanation on Monday when they blocked the Presidential Commission on the BP oil spill from having subpoena power to conduct the investigation.

Subpoena power in BP oil spill investigation blocked by Senate Republicans

Republicans on the House Natural Resources Committee on Wednesday rejected an attempt by Democrats to subpoena the CEOs of BP and the other companies blamed for last year’s massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

every Republican on the committee voted to table the subpoena request.

BP Gulf Oil Spill: Republicans block subpoenas

Republicans have been investigating like crazy. Eric Holder made them look like fools.

Hillary Clinton warned them last year this could happen in Libya.

Republicans even apologized to BP because Obama got 20 billion from them for their mess. But Republicans block an investigation? At least long enough for the paper shredders to do their job.

And I thought al Qaeda was bad. They blocked the BP investigation? How could they do that? How could USMB Republicans defend that?

When under employed people are spending $3.70 per gallon to drive to whatever work they can get to, they really don't give a fuk. The GOP sees this. Why don't you??

Tell me, did they block the ability to subpoena ANYONE, or just the CEOs?

Then tell me what information ABOUT THE SPILL do you think you can get from the CEOs?

That's like asking Dave Thomas about the operations of your local Wendy's...

You do understand that democrat sponsored regulations have forced operators to drill in deeper waters. Control is compromised when directional drillers are apprised of having to drill at tvd and md depths of this magnitude. You can't just jump into your little submarine and dive down to 6000' tvd and make the problem go away in thirty minutes. It's a different story when tasked in shallower waters since there is well control.

Yep, but that's not 'germane to the conversation', is it Deanie?

Yet, they changed course, the very next day? WITH the same republican who stopped it for a short 24 hours so they could read what was in the bill.

The Senate GOP leadership has decided they have no objections to legislation giving subpoena power to the White House commission probing the oil spill, and will not block the bill from moving forward, aides tell me. The move will cheer liberals and Dems who were hoping to move this towards passage quickly. [...]

According to [an aide to Republican Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina], he happened to be on the floor when a Democratic Senator introduced the bill for a unanimous consent vote. DeMint was told by GOP leadership aides to hold up the bill because leadership hadn't had a chance to read it, the DeMint aide says.

But now that the leadership has read the bill and decided it has no objections, it will move forward if a Dem asks again for it to be passed by unanimous consent.

The GOP wants to read bills? What crazy idea is that?! we should just trust the bills Democrats throw together.

Then you must know one of those regulations. Can you name it?

Pelosi and Boxer have backed bans on offshore drilling for decades and then there's the re-imposed moratorium on offshore drilling under O and the DOI which locks up 85% of the potential for gas and oil discovery and production. Recently, Dan Gelber, D-house, called for banning near shore drilling. Democrats pushed for offshore drilling more than 50 miles offshore in 2008 but lost and the list goes on......
