Imagine if it was turned the other away around. This is nothing more than a double standard ,below is a mix I found on the web.

Direct tv slams whites a dumbasses in commercials ,when they throw a black family in the mix the white family are still the dumbasses, Notice you will never see a black depicted as the dumbass for having cable instead of dish.
I see it this way: they want to poke fun at somebody as part of the spirit of the message. The only group you can offend (and the sky's the limit with this group) is white males - particularly slightly balding white males. Treat them like trash and you get few complaints. Draw any other group from the hat and broadcasters would be forced to ban the ad.

Imagine a media focus group exercise where the same script is used but the sexes and races of the actors are drawn from a hat - at random. The focus group would be outraged if anyone other than a white male was the butt of the joke.

This is not ethically different from selling stuff using Sambo or Watermelon Boy figures or cartoons as they did in the mid-20th Century. White males are the new go-to garbage.

Let me describe four television ads you might see on any evening - perhaps one following the other - for example during the football playoffs.

A man feverishly scratches a lottery ticket (link is external) in the hopes of winning an unwinnable prize, while a baby with an adult consciousness sitting next to him mocks the man's expectation that he will win - and his stupidity for this expectation. The man loses and expresses his stupid disappointment as the baby makes a stupid face. (E-trade)

A business executive has hired Kyle (link is external) to provide geographical information - the boy corrects the executive's reference to Czechoslovakia - informing the man it's the Czech Republic. Then the exec tells another guy that without the kid he would never have learned of the new country -"Buttheadistan." (FedEx)

A white-haired, clueless executive interacts with a lizard who continuously mocks the stupid preferences and decisions of the executive. How does this sell the product (GEICO)? Presumably people imagine the reptile is running GEICO - who knows who really manages the company - which is actually a good PR move.

A woman tells her friend (link is external) during a kids' party how she got all the party supplies at Walmart - including the clown costume daddy is wearing as he approaches the happy children. The father jumps on a sharp toy and lets out a horrifying wail, scaring the children off. The mother is calm - she knows her husband is an idiot.

What do these ads all have in common? They show white, adult males as imbeciles. They couldn't depict other races this way.
Thanks to everyone who is paying attention to this "war" on white men in mainstream media advertising.

Perception matters and when white men are constantly perceived as stupid, brow-beaten morons to be ridiculed and mocked by women, children and minorities, everyone suffers.

Unfortunately, the children suffer the most damage because they are too young to understand this constant negative stereotyping of white men (their fathers) is a vicious attack from the extreme left w...ing designed to destroy the White American Family. Year after year, children see white men on TV as idiots and they begin to believe all white men (including their own fathers) are idiots who deserve NO RESPECT. When the Father is not respected in the family, the family breaks down. No where is this more apparent than in the Black communities where the Father is completely absent.

Oh for heaven's sake. Let's try working on your sense of humor.

White males are a coveted "supply" for narcissists. The narcissists want to milk them all they can.

Maybe they see the example you're setting

They fact that they don't exist. (see post #5 and below)

Um....what exactly is dumb about having cable instead of dish, or vice versa?

This is not ethically different from selling stuff using Sambo or Watermelon Boy figures or cartoons as they did in the mid-20th Century.

I was trying to take you seriously. Then I got to the sentences above and realized your remarks don't deserve that.

The image below overstates the significance of the theme found in the OP narrative.
