"A Madison County jury found Huntsville Police Officer William Darby guilty of murder. Darby was charged with killing Jeffery Parker, 49, at his home on Deramus Avenue in April 2018. Darby shot Parker as he sat in his home with a gun to his head, talking to another Huntsville police officer, Genisha Pegues. During the trial, Darby’s attorneys said he acted within department policy and made a split second decision when he saw a fellow officer in a dangerous situation. But prosecutors maintained that Darby was the aggressor and escalated the situation when he arrived on the scene.

Pegues and another officer, Justin Beckles, were the first to arrive at Parker’s home that day. As she spoke with Parker and tried to de-escalate the situation, when Darby arrived with a shotgun, Pegues said Darby yelled at Parker to drop his gun, and he also yelled at her to point her gun at Parker. She testified that she told Parker to lower his weapon because she didn’t want anything to happen to him, and Darby shot him in the face seconds later."

As an officer, you are supposed to back your fellow officers at all times -- but this whore stabbed her fellow officer in the back.....This is why you can't allow women to be cops, especially darkies......The fact that this guy was already going to kill himself should automatically rule out murder..on top of that; he had a gun and didn't follow police commands to drop it...of course you shoot him in the face - and I hope it blew his head off like he wanted. This attack on law enforcement is really out of control. Why the fuck would a cop have to de-escalate a situation where a guy is threatening to kill himself anyway? Shoot him and be done with it.

Sooner or later they will learn. Things are no longer as they were.

Biff, your sexism and racism in the comment rules out any sympathy for your argument. The officers should have pointed their weapons at the shooter and ordered him to drop his weapon, get on his knees with his hands behind his head, and if he refused, they should have shot him then and there.

I second this. If you don't do what you are told to do, what do you think is going to happen next? Because the guy who was killed was armed himself anything could've been done with his weapon.

God bless you and the convicted person always!!!

Anytime someone has agun to anyone's head they should be shot if possible. This isn't a TV show where 4 people hold guns on one another while trading jabs or talking the person down and all ends well.
The other thing is somnetimes police panic and someone committing a crime or resisiting arrest gets killed when it may not have been necessary but with no ill intent. Society needs to accept thses situations as human error.

As I understand it the suicidal guy had the weapon pointed at himself the whole time, the first officer was talking him down and the second officer shot a man that was not threatening anyone but himself.
OK well if that's the case then the cop was wrong. I mean seriously? "

Jeffery Parker’s best friend from high school, Bill Parks, described Parker as a very kind soul who had his demons, just like everyone else in the world.

“Jeff was a very smart guy, almost a Renaissance man. He loved music. He could fix almost anything you asked him to do. He just asked for help. He wanted help and he ended up in a situation where he asked for help and it ended up terribly.” Parks said.
No, people just have different ideas about what constitutes "help" is all. RL for cops is just a first person shooter video game any more. No time for silliness. A man's got to stay focused upon the larger mission! Protecting and serving themself. A woman's got to raise her gun, scream "Drop it!" hysterically, and back way the hell off!

He had a gun....he could have killed all of them in one sweeping action.....

The cop trying to talk him down was probably some ANTIFA-BLM plant.....

The other cop saved the day by blowing the guy's head off....

Doubt it.....

Not enough of the outrage boxes were checked.....

The suicide guy may have been talked out of this but the warning signs are there. Next time he might have upgraded to a machine gun and taken out a school or church with him. Who knows what these crazies think.
Why are you assuming he's crazy and a danger to others when he could have just been suffering severe depression?

Your culture defines him as dangerous. He had a gun.

My culture? The only culture I have is a bit of yogurt in the refrigerator.
