You do not have to accept it, just as those people do not have to accept you.

Well, she doesn't have to accept it,.It's her choice. I try and accept everyone as best I can, doesn't mean I should be punished if I don't operate in a manner others wish. You are a human being, so I will acknowledge you. Where they lose people is when they demand specific titles and reverence, that is off putting to most people and it doesn't adhere to common people's interactions with one another.

You don't have to accept them. The law does however and at least it matters.
