The reason business is automating is because of ignorant ideas like yours that demand workers get $50/hr, paid holidays, sick leave, full medical and dental, retirement etc. to the tune of $100/hr. while they are earning the company a meager fraction of what they are putting out on labor. Yeah, you and the democrats utopian ideas will continue to increase the number of homeless on the streets and violence in our cities as your policies send the US into third world status. I dont demand anything. I could care less whether teens work or not or if nobody applies for said jobs. Offer 7.25 per hour great. Love it. Parents here pay kids $100 per week to stay home and play sports. Im great with that.

Free markets would dictate. If $10 isn’t enough then the employer would raise the wage organically versus having the Govt dictate it.

A wage set by millions of voluntary agreements reflects real economic conditions; a wage set by politicians reflects a political decision. Markets are usually better at allocating resources than central planners.
