Why are barriers around the Capitol considered effective by Dems, but not border barriers

Trillions of linear feet of wall / fence has been erected worldwide all with the same expected function. Walls and fences work....for some reason they just don't work in one place in the world....on our southern border.

Yep, it makes lots of sense, since the barriers are backed up by armed law enforcement. Fool the police once, and try again at the risk of ending up dead. Don't for a minute believe the events of Jan 6th will ever again occur with only one death by the invaders.
