The actual statement was "The vast majority of these people who were hospitalized with Covid 19, they were not vaccinated" Exactly what was is dumb about this statement. Depending on the particular vaccine and number of doses, the effectiveness is between 60% and 95%.

How did we get here?

You got where you are today because Donald Trump and the Republican governors politicized a pandemic. You spent over a year lying to the public, telling him the virus was a Democratic hoax to help Biden win the election.

Donald Trump never once mentioned how many people were getting sick or dying. Every week as the numbers of sick and the deaths went ever upward, he continually said you were “rounding a corner”, and “one day, it will all disappear, like magic”.

I used to work for a guy who said that “If you ignore a problem long enough if you solve itself”. In reality, if he ignored a problem long enough, his clients would call me, and I would spend half a day grovelling to government regulators, lenders, and/or the lawyers on the other side, because he had missed filing dates, and could no longer require their cooperation, and our client was in danger of losing his deal.

Last but not least since the lawyer caused the problems himself by ignoring the problems, we were unable to bill for any of the extra work we had to do or the expenses that we incurred in cleaning up his mess.

That’s what Trump. He ignored the warnings he received about the pandemic in January and did nothing to fight it at all until he appointed his pandemic task force in March. In the interim he encouraged pharmaceutical suppliers to sell all of their stocks of PPE and medical supplies to the Chinese to assist in their fight against the virus.

Trumps department of commerce rescinded tariffs, and restrictions on goods being sold to the Chinese in order to allow these sales of pharmaceutical supplies and PPE to the Chinese. And he did so without retaining sufficient supplies medical supplies and PPE for the American medical complex and without checking national stock piles or supplies.

Trumps focus throughout the pandemic, has been to ensure Americas big pharmaceutical companies and medical industrial complex make as much money as possible for their shareholders throughout the pandemic. It was not to save American lives. It it was not to protect the American people. It was to ensure the largest profit possible for the American medical industrial complex.

It was to ensure exclusive rights and patent for American pharmaceutical companies for testing and treatment and vaccines.

And it was to ensure that big American corporations were kept afloat and economically viable throughout the pandemic.
