Steve King, the white supremacist congressman from Iowa, was defeated in a shocking Republican primary Tuesday, bringing an end to the long legislative career of one of Washington’s most explicit bigots.

Former Iowa state Sen. Randy Feenstra defeated King to earn the GOP nomination for Iowa’s 4th Congressional District, according to The New York Times. Feenstra will now face Democrat J.D. Scholten in the general election this November.

Great news! Long overdue!

Because he is. Why else would someone call him that?

"On June 12, Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) tweeted: “Europe is waking up... Will America... in time?” and linked to an anti-immigrant tweet by a well-known British neo-Nazi named Mark Collett."

" Collett stood shoulder to shoulder with the leader when both were arrested for race-hate offences in 2005 and he was considered to be one of the BNP’s most effective speakers. He would deliver savage indictments of the ‘global conspiracy’ against Britain. ‘We’re the biggest threat to the corrupt political establishment,’ he told a BNP audience in 2007, ‘[the] traitorous white politicians who have sold us down the river.’ "

We do not know the motives of the people who voted him out.

Maybe they thought that kicking him out would help ensure that their community was not targeted for destruction by the vandals, arsonists, and looters of the current insurrection.

The TDS folks obviously did not inform themselves on the issues. The previous guy was excellent and MAGA but the new guy is also MAGA! :p

Wow, it took 4 whole hours for the coveted TDS Fruitcake Award to get a winner. Johnny, what has he won? Well, Monty, the big box has a wonderful all expense paid trip to the one place on the face of the Earth without an Gun Laws. He will be transported there, given an AK-47 and a map to get home with a fanny pack full of K-rats and a sign on his back, "Hey, I'm an American". Hope he enjoys his vacation to Yemen.

The Republicans couldn't even stomach this guy. They actively worked to defeat him.

Maybe enough of the country has finally had enough.

No way to know yet.

Agreed. It's a crap shoot right now no matter what the Rupsters say.
I'm confident that when history is written, Trumpism will just be a stain on our story.

European countries have had this happen, and they're better now. They just had to get past it.
