A Chicago woman has died days after she was dragged from a car and shot during an attack captured on video that killed her boyfriend and drew more attention to the city’s particularly violent year.
Yasmin Perez, 23, died Tuesday, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. Her death came three days after Gyovanny Arzuaga, 24, was shot in the head and killed following a Puerto Rican Day parade in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood.
The couple, who had two children, were attacked after what police called a minor traffic crash.
“They left their babies,” Arzuaga’s aunt, Vickie Ponciano, said Tuesday as she wept.
Police said the couple was ambushed by several men in the middle of a street after the crash. The deadly attack was captured on a video that was shared widely online, drawing more national attention following violence that included a recent mass shooting that killed five people in Chicago.
In an attempt to stem a rising national tide of violent crime, President Joe Biden is announcing new efforts Wednesday that focus in part on addressing gun violence. The Justice Department is also launching strike forces in cities including Chicago to help take down illegal gun traffickers.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot called the shootings of Perez and Arzuaga “horrific” on Monday and vowed that authorities would track down those involved.
Video of the shooting showed Perez being dragged by several people from a dark SUV with a Puerto Rican flag sticking out of a window. Arzuaga, who was seen on the ground nearly covering her, was then shot by a gunman in a white tank top.

Todd and Stacie Bagley were murdered in 1999 in Killeen, Texas by Christopher Vialva and Brandon Bernard who were executed in 2020 after exhausting appeals for years, as usual in such cases.
Tony Sparks, who was 16 at the time of the crime, participated in the carjacking, but was taken home before the murders. He was initially given a sentence of life in prison, but it was shortened in March 2018.
Sparks’ new sentence was 35 years in prison, followed by a five-year supervised release term. He has already served close to 21 years.
Terry Terrell Brown and Christopher Michael Lewis, both 17 at the time, were given 20-year prison terms.
Gregory Hardin Lynch, 15 at the time, served a five-year sentence for his part in providing the weapon used in the murders.
Jacqueline Gardener, 24, was robbed of $77 tip money on May 19, 2012 in Schererville, Indiana before being choked and shot in the back with a 12 gauge shotgun.
Three men were free on $7,500 bond for eight years. Henderson has finally been imprisoned for armed robbery. Craig and Blasingame remain free on bond.

As of February 24, 2021 the other two co-murderers are still free on bond, after eight years.

AFTER 8 years, Henderson has pled guilty to armed robbery with bodily injury. Charges of murder and murder in the perpetration of robbery were dismissed by Judge Samuel L. Cappas, and Henderson was sentenced to 10 years with credit for 1,327 days served.

Beaten to death by her adopted black parents, the woman a school teacher
Jerry Austin Robinson, 34, and Ariel Robinson, 29, were both charged with homicide by child abuse in the January 14 death of her adopted daughter Victoria “Tori” Rose Smith, according to a release from the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

Ariel Robinson had a podcast with her husband, who was also arrested for homicide by child abuse.
Her life as a comic and a mother was thoroughly documented on her Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Twitter pages where she frequently referred to herself as a mother of five.
On her Facebook page, she shared several pictures of her adopted daughter named Tori (short for Victoria).
Simpsonville Police were called to the Robinson’s home around 2:25 p.m. after a child was found unresponsive, according to multiple media reports.
The child — Victoria “Tori” Rose Smith — was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Ariel and Jerry Robinson are accused of “inflicting a series of blunt force injuries” which caused Tori Robinson’s death on Jan. 14, according to arrest warrants in the case.
Little girls should be playing with dolls. They should be tying their hair back in bows and going on daddy/daughter dates.
Only in a world as evil as ours should we read of what happened to Victoria “Tori” Rose Smith.
If white privilege/systemic racism/implicit bias/white supremacy/redlining existed, the black murderers of Victoria “Tori” Rose Smith would be the only story you’d be reading about from the corporate press and hearing stories about on cable television or network news.
But Victoria “Tori” Rose Smith was a three-year-old white girl. Her life didn’t matter, because we are constantly told all white people are racist and benefit from unearned privilege.
The silence surrounding your death and the individuals who murdered you are a reminder white lives don’t matter.

Ty Sheem Walters III, 23, allegedly rear-ended Wall as he turned into the driveway of the home near the intersection of Indian Hut Road and Highmarket Street, just off of U.S. 521, around 5 p.m., according to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office. He then allegedly got out of the vehicle and shot Wall, Anderson, and another person, WPDE reported.
No whites are rioting, protesting, looting or burning businesses anywhere in America as of this time to "protest" the senseless murder of two innocent whites by Ty Sheem Ha Sheem Walters III.
Did any white communities protest and riot and loot and burn over this murder of a five-year-old Cannon Hinnant, by his neighbor, 25 year old Darius Sessoms? No.

A black man stabbed a white 12-year-old boy at McDonald’s in Pittsburgh in what appears to be a clear anti-white hate crime.
The child is in stable condition after being stabbed by Charles Edward Turner, 51, on Sunday.The child was with his family when the man tackled the boy and stabbed him in the neck with a box cutter.
