Not that I like china or anything but Taiwan does belong to them.

They originally founded Taiwan. Then they had to cede control to Japan during a war, then when Japan surrendered in WW2 they gave up control and Taiwan more or less started to govern itself. But china never officially released Taiwan from their ownership.

So technically China has every right to reclaim their territory.
