But hey, he's white, you won't see any protests over it.
Long story short, a neighbor was mad that a couple played videos games until 11:00-12:00 at night. Neighbor started doing "Ding dong ditch," for several nights in a row and never told the couple he wanted them to quiet down at night.
Ding dong ditch as is KNOCKING VERY LOUD at night and then hastily running back home.
The couple was now afraid of who was harassing them past dark in the late hours.
The neighbor finally calls the police to report "noise," and lies about "fighting noises."
Two innocent cops open knock on the couple's door; the man, having been harassed and terrorized by his neighbor's ding dong ditch for the past several weeks, exercises his 2nd Amendment right to protect himself (neighbor knows he packs heat).
The cops (I truly believe this is an accident, since they were unaware of the situation), didn't position themselves to be seen through the peephole, and knocked very loud and only said police once (at very start).
The man believing the dangerous ding dong ditch person is at it again opens the door armed.
The bodycam shows the man is surprised, drops the guns.
Yes...he drops the gun...and gets shot.
However, he is shot from the left side, hold the gun in his right. The cop on his left side may not have been able to see the gun being dropped.
All of that being said and done, I believe the neighbor who called 911 should face the brunt of these charges; and the family, girlfriend receive just compensation.
