Which country's health care system would you adopt?

Right...The UN.

You're going to have to come up with much more credible sources than that, tovarich.:lol::lol:

So which one?

The World Health Organization's ranking of the world's health systems was last produced in 2000, and the WHO no longer produces such a ranking table, because of the complexity of the task.

Do you think our health system is any better than it was in 2000? I'd bet it's much, much worse.

But you don't know if it is better or worse. Neither do I. The point is that the data provided is out of date. Ten years makes a lot of difference, better or worse.

If forced to have some choice, The system in Japan and Korea seems pretty cool.

It has all the advantages of the US system, instant care, caring staff, mostly private. High quality care. None of this wait list stupidity, and hospitals even in rural areas have all the equipment they need to function effectively. The system doesn't infect the patients with horrible diseases to shave costs, nor neglect them

But there is no bankruptcy issue either. Anything over 35% of a minimum wage annual income is covered under catastrophic care at 90%. There are still co pays, but they aren't killer. Everyone is covered. Even the co pays shrink as costs go up.

Now for the drawbacks. 24/7 nursing is extra. That means a family member needs to hang out with the patient, or be there to assist a minimum of 6 hours per day. It is normative to have 6 beds to a ward in Japan, of which 3 belong to the patient, the other three are for assisting family members, who do things like clothes washing, assisting to the bathroom, bathing etc. Also they only do one meal, family members are expected to bring food. There are laundromats on site, which charge high fees. You will see family members drying laundry on lines on the roofs of hospitals, as the cost of running a dryer is prohibitive.

In Korea, there can be 5 or six patients to a 10 or 12 bed ward.

If you are rich, you can get 24/7 nursing and private rooms. It costs a bomb. The costs of private rooms and special nursing aren't covered by insurance.

So which one?

France would be on no ones list. They are neglectful and cheeseparing. During the summer they can't even provide boy scout level of care. They will also deliberately infect you with things like Aids to cut costs.

You do realize that list is bogus?

The UK is one of the worst offenders on the level of euthanasia by neglect.

ON that list, they acknowledge that Morocco is the absolute worse for actual care of patients needs. That it is even in the top 50, along with France being number 1 is proof that the study is crap.

None.

We don't need the system replaced. We need all the do-gooders meddling in and tinkering with the system to get the hell out, mind their own damned business and quit pretending that they're doing us all a big favor.

Oh I agree 100%. I say that to at least 2 people per day
I am sick to death of people saying "the healthcare system is broken"

The only that was wrong with it was government regulation... Class action lawsuits, and too many people filing frivolous lawsuits against hospitals and Dr's.

The government is choking the freedon AKA LIFE out of us Americans

The Health care System that America provides to Iraqi people is quite good - all inclusive and free. Too bad your government can't do the same for you. Thank goodness Bush did what he did.

I am sick to death of people saying "the healthcare system is broken"
Would you like us to sugar-coat it?

I would like you to stay the heck out of our private business.

Why is it that saudi sheiks come to the cleveland clinic for their healthcare needs, if the system is broken

I have never met anyone in the recent past or not so recent that could not get medical help when needed or even when they had a simple sniffle. Our system was not broken till the government broke it. The government can tear up a hole in the ground

Can't you kindly answer my question first?
I already did, you're just not picking it up.

America should create its own model and quit worrying what a bunch of socialists are doing.

Now, why is it you seem to believe that an answer necessarily needs to come from without?
Well, since the health care systems of 36 countries were rated better than ours...

They weren't 'rated', that list is self reported. Self reported is not evidence. Governments lie.

In theory, France.

In practice, it wouldn't work and it would cripple the taxpayers - since the French pay 20% tax to fund it! But, it is a good service.

Translation = It was to complicated for the politically corrupt WHO to figure out then & now. My health care is the best in the world. I can get treatment anytime I want for anything that ales me. Other systems make you wait & limit procedures. They also treat slackers the same as productive members of society.

All we needed congress to do was pass:
H.R. 4626 - Insurance Antitrust & Nationwide Competition.
H.R. 4019 - Limiting Pre-Existing Condition Exclusions in All Health Insurance Markets
H.R. 198 - Health Care Tax Deduction Act
H.R. 544 - Flexible Health Savings Act
H.R. 27 - Medicare Fraud Prevention and Enforcement Act
H.R. 2785 - Health Care Paperwork Reduction and Fraud Prevention Act
H.R. 3468 - Promoting Health and Preventing Chronic Disease through Prevention and Wellness Programs for Employees, Communities, and Individuals Act
H.R. 2787 - Medical Liability Procedural Reform Act

Instead we are getting communism so bite me!

So which one?

So you post a link that can't be accessed.

Must be someone's opinion instead of fact.

Ever heard of copy and paste Meat Whistler ?

No doubt certain posters will ignore one rather annoying fact.

The WHO relied on countries to self report. The system was abused and is NOT a valid souce. There are no real legitimate, unbiased figures on rankings.

If you had to replace the U.S. system, which country's health care system would you replace it with?

If you had a life threatening infliction, which country would you want to treat you? Malta? Dominca? Andorra?
Your going to need to be honest on your part...which by your posts may prove to be a challenge to you.

There is no better healthcare service in the world than our own.....not even close.
