ST. LOUIS, MO – Rahmeisha Smith had not told anyone in her family that she was pregnant. She was planning to surprise the father. She wrote it all down on a box she was going to use as part of that surprise.
Family members of Smith discovered the box.
“We went in her house to search through her stuff she wrote down on a box it was going to be a surprise for the child’s father she didn’t tell the family she didn’t tell anybody,” said one of her sisters.
It turns out that it was a secret she never got to share. She was shot and killed on her front porch last Thursday.
According to another of her sisters, Kita Dickson:
“She was shot in the shoulder, back and four to the head. Do y’all know what y’all did to us? Do y’all know what y’all did?”
As reported by KSDK 5, the local NBC affiliate, the 24-year-old mother was found unresponsive on her front porch by detectives investigating the shooting.
Dickson said that Smith’s 2-year-old daughter was right beside her when she was found.
“I have to look at my niece that keeps saying where mommy? Where mommy? How we goin explain this to a 2-year-old, where mommy at.” said Dickson.
Relatives want to know what neighbors may have seen.

Law Enforcement Today was able to confirm that since Smith’s death, St. Louis has suffered at least 5 more homicides, pushing the total to 200. While it isn’t rivaling Chicago’s 565 murders in 2020 in raw numbers, it is a startling number considering the population.
St. Louis has a population of slightly over 307,000. Chicago has 2.69 million. That is 1 death for every 1,535 people in St. Louis, whereas the Windy City, under the lackluster leadership of Lori Lightfoot as an average of 1 for every 4,761 residents.
