Iran Will No Longer Honor Nuclear Deal’s Limits on Research
By Rick Gladstone
Sept. 5, 2019

Moving further away from the 2015 nuclear agreement, Iran said Thursday it had stopped honoring the deal’s limits on research and development, a potentially important breach of the accord.

The step was Iran’s third retaliatory suspension of compliance with a provision of the accord since President Trump renounced it last year and reimposed severe sanctions aimed at crippling Iran’s economy.

Iran’s foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, conveyed the country’s latest step in a letter to Federica Mogherini, the top foreign policy official of the European Union, who has been trying to save the nuclear deal from unraveling.

Iran’s official Islamic Republic News Agency quoted a Foreign Ministry spokesman, Abbas Mousavi, as saying Mr. Zarif’s letter informed Ms. Mogherini that Iran had ceased all its commitments “in the field of nuclear research and development as of today (Thursday).”

The letter described the step as a response to the American sanctions and to what the Iranians called the inability of Britain, France and Germany, all parties to the accord, to fulfill their commitments under the agreement to provide Iran with economic relief.

And that's bad how? As I see it, it will force the other countries to reimpose their own sanctions. Iran will regret this move.

The other countries wanted to stay in the agreement Iran was in compliance with.

Iran needs to get real. It could find the only nukes in Iran being the ones blasted at them by Israel. (just as Israel attacked a nuclear plant in Iraq in the 1980s)

If you think Iran was ever in compliance you're a damn fool. The inspection regime that was agreed to was a joke.

And who told you Iran was not in compliance. Rush?

Because their compliance was documented.

Obama did everything he could to revitalize Iran including that worthless nuclear "agreement" spearheaded by the worthless traitor John Kerry.

According to who? The gateway pundit?

The other countries effectively already had reimposed sanctions, by not being able to compensate Iran.

I think we should let Iran emerge onto the world stage and treat them as an equal, unless they fuck with us.

If they do, we should invade them, kill all their mullahs, raze all their mosques, then leave.
Oh yeah, and Nuke Mecca!

Cool. Maybe Angela Merkel will attack them seeing as how she is supposedly the leader of the free world now :eusa_boohoo:

Nuke Mecca, problem solved. Then we can deal with the Persians. They are a beautiful people, please don't destroy them.
Christians are allowed in Iran, there are Christians there. They even had municipal Christmas trees.

They get attacked by terrorists a lot. The terrorist mullahs are in charge there, but the people are not like that.
