Contrary to propaganda, the timing of the Cold War is greatly exaggerated.

The propagandists believe that it began with the Fulton speech, but in fact, mainly in this speech, Churchill called for respect for his friend Stalin and the invitation of the USSR to participate in the UN as a full member. The Truman Doctrine was in the context of this friendly policy.
After the arrival of Eisenhower, the doctrine of Massive retaliation was proclaimed, but no war began, the communist regime was simply overthrown in the USSR and the loyal Khrushchev and his faction were installed.

After the Cuban missile crisis, the left again came to the United States, and this corresponded to the return of the left to the USSR during the period of Brezhnev's stagnation.

Perhaps the end of the 70s can be considered the beginning of the Cold War, but it did not last long, Reagan put an end to it.

In fact, there was no cold war at all, this is fiction.

The "cold war" was not a war, it was a standoff.
Hardly, we fought a series of proxy wars, supported dictators and supplied guerrillas all over the world in an effort to "stop the march of communism". Keeping the world safe from democracy had a substantial body count.

Sure there was ... Look at Operation Ajax .. That was Cold War stupidity. Look at the rise and fall of drunkard Joe McCarthy.. That too was Cold War stupidity.
