I bought a side folder last week and I'll be damned if I didn't find two more Mini-14s in as many days.
It worked out great as the blued (1978) one had the old wooden handguard so I swapped the wood HG for the Federal Ordnance "A-Team" HG making the folder "collector complete". The OEM wood HGs are going for around $200.00 now since back in the day everyone switched them out to vented HGs.
The other stainless one (1994) was in a old Butler Creek poly sporter stock. They are a very nice handling stock of the same length as the OEM stock but it has a normal buttplate instead of the concave affair of the Ruger. The HG on that one is stainless steel and looks to be one of the Mitchells HGs sold back in the day.
