When it is really a heartbeat.

In the midst of Biden and company working to fund planned parenthood by involving the taxpayer in those affairs it's good to see Senator Paul working on behalf of those in the nation who want no part of it, yet may be forced to be included in these deeds at the barrel of a government gun.

Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) re-introduced two pro-life bills over the weekend of January 30, 2021, releasing a statement the same day as the March for Life. In a video message to people participating in the march — the vast majority of whom did so virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Paul showed his solidarity in the fight for life.

“Abortion providers like Planned Parenthood will tell you differently, but every single life matters, including the unborn,” Paul said, adding that we cannot expect to honor our other rights if we do not first protect the right to life. “The proper role of government is to ensure that individual rights are protected, the most basic of which is the right to life,” he concluded.

Anyway. At least there are some folks in Washington who ar busy being about it rather than just talking about it.

If you could only go back to your womb, you are already there I suspect.

Theater.

Anti-abortion proponents claim that there is a beating heart present at six weeks. The fact is that at six weeks there is only a rudimentary tube that can eventually become a heart, and a few quivering cells that will eventually become the pacemaker which supplies electrical pulses controlling the heart beat. There is no heart structure present to actually behave as a heart behaves. No valves, no chambers, no muscle to pump anything. The preliminary structures that will eventually become parts of the heart are not a heart, and claiming they are is vast exaggeration at best. Recent research has shown when major structures of the heart develop, and it is amazingly over a four day period 124 days into the pregnancy. Before this four day period, the beginnings of the heart are not viable, and can not survive outside the womb.

Researchers and neonatologists studying fetal cardiac development have typically run into critical limitations, as many of the known structures of the human heart can only be identified in the latter stages of gestation. Now, a group of investigators at the University of Leeds has just published data, using cutting-edge imaging technology, that shows that major structures of a baby's heart form in just four days. Findings from the new study—published today in Scientific Reports in an article entitled “Ventricular Myocardium Development and the Role of Connexins in the Human Fetal Heart”—help identify the precise time when the four chambers of the heart develop, opening up the possibility that doctors could eventually be able to monitor babies during this critical phase of their development.

Remarkably, the research team found that the most dramatic changes occurred over a four-day period 124 days into the pregnancy. Within this brief period, the muscle tissue of the heart rapidly organizes. Cardiac fibers were laid down to form the helix shape of the heart, within which the four chambers of the heart form. Without this essential architecture in place, the fetal heart cannot survive outside the womb.

I'm not pro or anti abortion but let's face facts here.

Once an egg is fertilized it is a human being. Life has started, it's just very small is all and if left alone it would turn into a baby. It doesn't magically become a person at a specified point in time because it's still growing and will continue to grow for the next 18 to 19 years before it is finally fully formed.

Is that the legal standard we want to establish as meaning "life" a heartbeat? Is the ability to self sustain a heartbeat what we are going to legally define as "life"? If that's the case if I shoot someone with a pacemaker is that no longer murder? Same with someone on bypass or other mechanical means to either make their heartbeat or pump their blood? What about someone with an artificial heart? They dont have a "heart" either, are they a "life"?

Jeez you libs try so hard to say it’s not human life.

If there isn't a spontaneous abortion aka miscarriage's or stillbirth is one after 20 weeks.

Miscarriage is the spontaneous loss of a pregnancy before the 20th week. About 10 to 20 percent of known pregnancies end in miscarriage. But the actual number is likely higher because many miscarriages occur so early in pregnancy that a woman doesn't realize she's pregnant.

That most people eventually die of natural causes is no defense for intentionally causing the premature unnatural death of any person.

There are many claims made on both sides of the argument about when life begins. Many people feel as you do, but this thread is about claims of when a heartbeat starts. That particular claim, that a heartbeat starts at six weeks, has been debunked.

Well, no. but the existance of an electronic pacemaker doesn't matter if there is no heart muscle to trigger. At six weeks, there is no heart muscle to trigger.

Seems more like a very transparent attempt at justifying the callous disregard for human life.
Yes, that is what abortion opponents have always said. How honest is it to claim a beating heart when there are no muscles there to beat? Why do you feel the need to lie about cellular development stages?
