Briton has always been pissed that we kicked there ass in 1775-1782. They haven't forgotten and in fact they tried again in 1812 just to get kicked again.

Maybe in some of our wars they have helped, but don't expect them to lift a fingire if it came to a invasion of the main land.

Have you forgot about all the missle sites that were in Britian to enable America to hit any part of the planet but which made Britain a major target itself, would that not be help? Then there is the current situation in Afghanistan and Lybia where British troops/airmen fight along side Americans.

For starters, Afghanistan and Iraq (even though they were against going in they still followed us in)!

They are a great allie and great friend to America, we should never forget that!

Britain are always assiting America. lets be clear on that one. Also America had to get involved in world war 2. the germans were sinking ships that contained American citizens. And if Germany had won the war in europe...America wouldn't have been far off Hitlers sights.

We declared war on Britain in the War of 1812, and it came to be a draw. We tried to invade Canada, and got slammed back to the States. Also they burned our Capitol building, So I wouldn't call that war an instance where we "kicked their ass".
