According to those defending the arab muslims, the regime of hamas was "democratically elected."

That's nice, but that election took place EIGHT years ago, so when is the next set of elections? Or will hamas be in power for 70 years, like the chinese communist party, or like assad - for generations?

So much for arab muslim democracy. :eusa_whistle:

This provides the answer:

Seven Years Later: Gaza's Reality Under Hamas

What Hamas has done to the Palestinians is hard to forgive. But then it was the Palestinian people themselves who elected Hamas so how sorry can we feel for the Palestians.

Notice how the pro-pal filth in this forum won't go near this topic with a 100-foot pole. Their masters in teheran and moscow have ordered them that this is a topic they are unable to defend, so it needs to be avoided at all costs.

Why the Palestinians elect leaders like Arafat & Hamas to get them massacred I don't understand. It's called Palestinian mentality.

if unity talks fall apart, it could be never

The word ISLAM means SUBMISSION

Drop one person / one vote into islamist hell-holes - allow free access to the process for political parties, and you’re nearly guaranteed you'll get bearded savages sweeping the votes up, and gaining power. Why? Because for generations, with only brief periods of anything different, moslems have been ruled by despots, have no aversion to changes of government at the business end of an AK-47 and believe to the core of their being in their islamist creed. Not only will they gladly submit to a theocratic state, but they'll positively rush out and make it happen.

Arafat was originally appointed by the AL. When he did run, the other candidate was an 73 yr old grandmother of something like 43 children. Sameeha Khalil, had good credentials but it was not much of a race. Arafat got something like 85% of the vote
