The real crimes here, they believe, are not murder or rape or robbery, but rather, racism, discrimination, and poverty. One suspects that the Left sees crime rather like Robin Hood did in medieval England—as an opportunity to take from the rich and give to the poor. Rather than leave this particular task to the experts at the IRS, they seem to root for the robbers and against the cops.
The Left’s goal is not to reduce crime by cutting the number of murders, rapes, and robberies. It is to reduce punishment, incarceration, and harsh sentencing by decriminalizing crime. The decriminalization of pot is an obvious example of a successful policy. But by meting out short sentences and allowing defendants to avoid showing up for trial without sanctions, the Left is moving quickly to eliminate the consequences of all criminal behavior—the decriminalization of crime!
Crime and punishment are being replaced by crime and looking the other way. The victim? He or she is just part of the vast racist conspiracy, and therefore deserves what he or she gets. Collateral damage. Hey, what goes around, comes
around. How inconvenient for the Left when the culprit and the victim are both people of color!”
