Well of course they didn't admit they had a problem until the story was outed. Had no one had questioned the story, they wouldn't have known the story was false.

Once again, the story was made up by the woman they quoted as having been raped and abused. Rolling Stone did NOT "completely make the story up". This woman had been reporting this to school authorities for real, and had been rebuffed by the school exactly as the reporting said, because no one in administration believed her story - until Rolling Stone came along.

Had the reporter interviewed this woman's friends and obtained background information, she would have known that the friends didn't corroborate any of the things the "victim" said they would. The hostile administration response to their reporter was also exactly as stated.

But here's the sad reality. The story isn't really false. This woman's particular rape story was false, but "rape culture' does exist among young men. Brock Turner being a prime example. When that story came out, the men on this board said "What did she expect? She was drunk." She didn't expect to be raped and brutalized.

Colleges and universities ARE covering up rapes on campus, and not taking young women's stories seriously, for fear that it will affect enrolment. The whole situation is a mess. Schools were allowed to keep sex crimesm "in house" and deal with them without going to outside law enforcement but the system is a disaster for young women because schools are desperate to keep these matters "quiet" so as to not to affect enrolment.
