Make no mistake about it, class and sophistication have an impact, well in most cases. You see, when I was just a kid and started posting in this forum in late 2011, I thought that using class would prevail. I found that to be to the contrary, and decided to go to being the vulgar brawler much like Donald Trump. I already know that no matter how much class and sophistication I use, people in this forum are cemented in their views. In the realm of politics, where politicians are trying to win the moderate to undecided vote, that is a different perspective than an occasional forum dweller such as yours truly.

I can see see why Joe Biden edged Donald Trump in the 1st debate. While Biden lacked in content, he came off as having more class, he had a more soothing personality and being more personable. Well, tonight it was in reverse, Kamala Harris got her ass handed to her tonight by Mike Pence. Kamala, while I perceive her as an intelligent person, she was completely outclassed by a more intelligent Pence and he had her completely rattled during most of the debate. The intelligence issue is not as much of a factor as is the statesmanship and personable issue. Mike Pence truly came across as a statesman, distinguished and classy, as where Harris, well while she is a smart person came off as a trashy person with no class or being personable.

So, what can President Trump learn from this? Back off, let Joe Biden and his average at very best intelligence do himself in. If Trump watches what Mike Pence did, and follows the same pattern, he should have no problem in defeating Biden in the next debate. Trump needs to show that classiness, that warmth. The issue is, can Trump hold back his bar room brawler approach and use the classy Pence approach? I do not know. Regardless of if Trump can or can't do this, I do believe it'll be pivotal in who wins the presidency. I am voting for Trump regardless, because I am anti-communist, and the Democrat party is the communist party of America. In the next week or two I will be posting a communist/socialist/marxist/national socialist thread. This election will come down to do you want a tyrannical, communist, one party Democrat party rule where you have no decisions in your life - the smarter than you government tyrants will decide your life's fate for you - or voting for the freedom of capitalism in spite of it's flaws.

Wrong. Biden came out swinging calling Trump every name in the book. Liar, clown, murderer, then president Trump whooped his ass. Look all president Trump has done is take the gutter politics rules Dems play by and gone pro. It's high time Dems got a taste of their own medicine.

...as where Harris, well while she is a smart person came off as a trashy person with no class or being personable.

That's her natural state....There's a reason that she didn't even make it to he Iowa caucuses.

The lady who cuts my hair is smarter than Harris. After you get through the fake Harris outer husk there's nothing but numbskull.

Pence was boring and tried to pretend he was a typical republican in a typical republican administration doing explainable things. I think he was sick and trying to hide it. He looked like he really didn't want to be there and really didn't want to win.

I think Pence dominated. Cumalot still refused to answer about packing the courts. That's a major issue and she refuses to answer just like Biden. I can promise that cost you people hundreds of thousands of votes tonight.

Try and make yourself feel better, you need to practice this for election night

Trump does not learn anything from anybody. I doubt it will make much difference in coming debates.

What might tone down things is one of the debates is a town hall. In this format, it's more difficult for the candidates to sidestep the questions from the audience and just rant. The reason is, the TV audience tends to put themselves in the shoes of the person asking the question so when the candidate side steps the question, the TV audience does not like it.

Both candidates side stepped most of the questions. Pence was more polished in doing so than Harris. Pence did Trump no good on the Covid questions but did much better on the economy. Harris did a good job of putting Pence down when he attacked her job as prosecutor. There was no winner.

Trump needed a knockout from Pence and he didn't get it thus the trajectory of the election will be unchanged which is the case with most VP debates. I doubt voters will remember anything about this debate except the fly on Pence's head and his pink eye and Harris's dumb grin.
