A tomato is both a fruit and a vegetable.

Technically, from a botanical standpoint, edible fruits are vegetables because a vegetable is any edible part of a plant. However, in common parlance people usually distinguish between fruits and vegetables.

I like just about all of them except dates, kiwi, and watermelon.

My top 3 are

1) Tomatoes
2) Olives
3) Bell Peppers

I'll have them in a garden salad every day. The exception is when I am out of town because there are very few restaurants that I trust enough to prepare me uncooked food.

And on my salad I always use my home made Italian dressing. It's main ingredients are extra virgin olive oil and my home made red wine vinegar. So grapes get an honorable mention.

• Rose hips! (I used to grow my own)
• Mangos! Nothing beats a really, good, ripe mango!
• Black cherries!
• Blue Olives
• Honeydew melons!
• Papaya!
• Passion fruit!
• Red bell peppers
• Hot peppers

Honeydew is really good too.

Honeydew is the best when you can catch a perfectly ripe really sweet one! I could OD on those and the crunchy cores of a good watermelon. Ambrosia. In the off-season, I pig out on Arizona or Minute Maid Watermelon Juice. Delicious.

No blueberries here except in the store, but I spend many hours every July/August picking huckleberries and I love 'em. I would give a lot for a fresh, juicy CA peach right out of the orchard as well.

I tasted both California peaches and peaches grown here in South Carolina. South Carolina peaches are more juicy and taste better.

Oh Yeah! My grand daughters love date-nut bread. I have a couple of loaves in the oven right now. Great for a sweet breakfast bread, warm with butter. MMMM MMM.

The date nut bread is done. Now the Mixed Berry Pie has gone in. Done in 45 min. Filled with fresh Huckleberries, Blueberries, Raspberries, Strawberries and Blackberries. Now the clean-up. LOL
