What is the Mark of The Beast?

For the people of Israel, deliverance from Egypt was like a mark on their hand or between their eyes (Ex 13:9, 16). Faithfulness to God was to be normative in their daily lives.

It's not an actual mark. It's allegiance to God, or in the case of Revelation, allegiance to the beast.

If you understood theology, you would know that a character by the name of Nicolae Carpathia is going to coming to rule the world as Anti-Christ according to the prophecies. Carpathia is going to require everyone in the world to get his mark, which will be a red branding of the official number of Satan, "666" on their foreheads.

If you don't do it, he will kill you, but if you do have the number, you go straight to hell, no questions asked, when Jesus come back.

Like I said "fantasy literature".

Can someone out there explain, what is the Mark of the Beast? Your thoughts.

I have a rather novel theory about that.

It seems to be widely-assumed that the Mark will be some sort of physical mark or device. In the context of modern technology, an RFID chip fits the bill very nicely. Imagine having an RFID chip implanted in you, and when you go shopping, instead of breaking out a wallet, or a debit card, you just let them scan your chip, instantly linking you to your bank account, so that payment can be transferred therefrom to pay for your purchase. Similarly, working and earning your wages, or selling something, would also go through this technology. This would very nicely fit the description in Revelation, which has it that you could not buy or sell unless you had the Mark.

———

But that's not what I'm thinking. I'm thinking the Mark may be more figurative than literal, an ideological “Mark”, and I think we've already seen the barest beginnings of it.

I'm thinking of recent cases, in which merchants were sued for declining to provide direct support for insane and immoral crap, such as sick homosexual mockeries of weddings. Their businesses have been badly damaged or destroyed, and I've seen the opinion repeatedly and strongly expressed on this forum that people who have moral standards should not be allowed to own businesses, if they are not willing to violate their moral standards in the transactions that they will engage in.

There it is—the beginning of the idea that one must be willing to submit to evil, as a condition of being allowed to engage in commerce. As executed so far, the idea that one cannot engage in the business of providing custom goods or services, if one is not willing to provide these goods or services explicitly in support of that which one knows to be wrong. Better than the more literal version of what the Mark is thought to be, this version more directly ties the privilege of engaging in commerce to the willingness to bow down before the Beast.

Many scholars think the Mark of the Beast is Roman coin with the head of Caesar engraved on it. This was extremely offensive to the Jews, but they couldn't buy or sell without it.

666

Which Ironically is the atomic number of carbon 3 times.
The number for man in the Bible is 6, since man was made on the 6th day

Also, man is made of carbon and carbon has the atomic number 6.

Coincidence?

Never has a poster been so wrong about so much.

The Mark of The Beast is prophesy. Since when has the entire world been required to take a mark, or digital tattoo in order to be able to buy or sell. The closest the world has ever gotten to that is these illegal and immoral mask mandates.

Only to people like Hal Lindsey and Tim Lahaye. Its history. The mark of the beast was the emperor's head engraved on Roman coin. The Jews hated it but they couldn't buy or sell without it.
