Hello everybody, with Obamacare kicking in, I would like to show you what I would do with health care as president.

I would call it, Health Initiative Plan

It would include the repeal of Obamacare, first of all. What I would put in it, is:
  • Allowing kids to stay on their parents plan until 26
  • Motivate(or shame) the health industry into making a cheaper care plan for low-income or unemployed people
    - On the previous point, I would talk to the providers on rates for the coverage plans. For example, a person making X amount of money would pay less than a certain person making a higher amount of money. Both people are assumed to be under the low-income umbrella.
If that doesn't work, I would work with hospitals and clinics to lower cost of care if lower-income or unemployed.
  • Cannot discriminate based on existing conditions

I would never force anyone to buy health care because that's defeating the purpose of freedom. People will have choices, prices shouldn't be driven up as much as Obamacare would. It'll create more customers for the companies which could create jobs and even more investing in the process(Some companies might want to increase R&D spending and employ more people to better manage these other lower-income care plans)

That's part of what I would do. How do you like it?

Repealing Obumbacare is essential to get our country back.

He and his socialistic agenda is not what this country is about.

I agree with your point about people staying on their parents "if they have to" until 26.

The hospital and physician issue, I know for a fact that most will lower their rate for low income or unemployed. They will show you what the cost is and then trim that down majorly. They will accept payments. This is their incentive to NOT have to go to collector's.

I would ask for all insurance to trim their price by 15-20% for everyone because it is overpriced, and not lower the amount they pay back to physicians.

I would reform medicaid/care so that people, if needed can apply at age 18 and must show reason for application and income level.

No form of painkillers/narcotics should be paid for by medicaid/care. They either seek alternative means such as therapy or pay out of pocket.

Healthcare should not ever be mandated to have from birth until the day you die that you must pay for it, that is unconstitutional and against freedom.

It is a choice.

What about kids whose parents do not have HC?

  • Motivate(or shame) the health industry into making a cheaper care plan for low-income or unemployed people
  • The only motivations that work are high profits OR forcing them by law.
  • - On the previous point, I would talk to the providers on rates for the coverage plans. For example, a person making X amount of money would pay less than a certain person making a higher amount of money. Both people are assumed to be under the low-income umbrella.
Sounds good but why should they do that? Because YOU ASK?!?!

If that doesn't work, I would work with hospitals and clinics to lower cost of care if lower-income or unemployed.

Yeah? You would work with them?

On what? How do you motivate them to lose money?

I would never force anyone to buy health care because that's defeating the purpose of freedom.

forcing people to BUY private HC isa windfall for the providers of private HC insurance.

How anybody can call that socialism I do not know. That is pretty much the definiteion of FASCISM, (a kind of socialism, I'm prepared to admit, but a TRULY TOXIC form of that political system)

People will have choices, prices shouldn't be driven up as much as Obamacare would.

So you say, but nothing you suggest seems to make much sense to me.
It'll create more customers for the companies which could create jobs and even more investing in the process(Some companies might want to increase R&D spending and employ more people to better manage these other lower-income care plans)

MAGICAL THINKING

That's part of what I would do. How do you like it?

You describe outcomes you'd like to see, but no path to reaching them

You evidently have NO where near the professional experiences in health care finances as I have is my first observation!
2nd You are blaming the wrong people!
Do you think $600 billion a year is a big number?
Well that's what "defensive medicine" costs all because providers are afraid of being sued! $1 out of 4 according to physicians is spent purely out of defensive practices!
All because they are fearfully of being sued!
3rd.. You evidently believe the myth there are 46 million or 50 million "uninsured"!
That myth was what drove some people to vote for the Obamanation!
Newsroom: Income & Wealth: Income, Poverty and Health Insurance Coverage in the United States: 2010

The Census Bureau's own numbers show 15.5 million are uninsured.
198.4 million covered under private insurance
96.1 million covered by government, Medicare/Medicaid..
294.5 million people covered. Covered!
And the census further states 9 million of those that "uninsured" are NOT citizens!
And the Census acknowledges 5.4 million of "uninsured" .. all they have to do is register..no costs.. paid for but they are counted!
So how in the world can people like you and the majority of people think there is a BIG problem i.e. 46 to 50 million "uninsured"?
There are less then 10 million and if you and others would push Congress to TAX like they did TANNING Salons in the Obamacare, LAWYERS 20% of the $100 billion a year lawyers make and therefore creating a for profit Govt. contracted Uninsured Health Insurance Company© that would when hospitals see "uninsured" would register and
send claims to UHIC that would pay the claims.
Thus there wouldn't be these kinds of monstrous overcharges of 6,000% above costs that Medicare gladly pays hospitals... because they are taking "uninsured" patients!

as prez - to help us with medical - just get govt. out of healthcare - and leave us alone - =shut down the congress !

You'll...talk to them?

I'm guessing this is from the same school of thought as the Donald Trump strategy for addressing oil prices ("They go in and raise the price of oil, because we have nobody in Washington that sits back and says, ‘You’re not gonna raise that fucking price. You understand me?’").

I'd like to see real choices in Healthcare insurance. As the system is now, if I do my homework and find the best rate possible comes from a company in Washington State, and I am in Florida, I am just SOL. The vast majority of insurance companies are only allowed to operate within certain states so there is no real competition going on.

I'd also like for doctors not to be able to nit-pick which insurances they are willing to accept payment from. If a patient has insurance from company X then the doc should have to accept payment from X. If there is a balance, bill the patient. They shouldn't however just be able to say, "We don't take that insurance, you're on the hook for the whole darned bill". Defeats the point of having any insurance in the first place.

Example:
If you're in Cali, there's a good chance you have Kaiser (I'm sure there are others, this is just the first biggie that pops into my head). In mid-southern MI, where I live, you probably have either Blue Cross or McLaren, though Priority Health is making inroads in some places but you don't have a lot in the way of options because only a few insurance companies operate to begin with and doctors are allowed to pick and choose which insurances they are willing to take. So if you don't have one of those three, you may just be turned away, and if they take you for treatment they may not bother billing the insurance company at all and YOU will have the whole bill.

I agree

  • Allowing kids to stay on their parents plan until 26

  • 26 year olds are not "kids". I have a 21 and 23 year old. They have their own health care plans.
Motivate(or shame) the health industry into making a cheaper care plan for low-income or unemployed people
You meant health insurance, not health industry. A chest x-ray cost the same amount to perform for poor people as it does for rich people.
    - On the previous point, I would talk to the providers on rates for the coverage plans. For example, a person making X amount of money would pay less than a certain person making a higher amount of money. Both people are assumed to be under the low-income umbrella.
Why should somebody pay less or more based upon their income? Do you think a grocery store should base it's prices upon ones income?
If that doesn't work, I would work with hospitals and clinics to lower cost of care if lower-income or unemployed.
Are you going to ask grocery stores to do the same sort of thing? This is ridiculous.
Cannot discriminate based on existing conditions
Would you also advocate that people with an existing crappy driving record be charged the same or lower rate for car insurance, simply based upon their income level?

I would never force anyone to buy health care because that's defeating the purpose of freedom.

Most of your idea sounds like a pipe dream.
