What has all that investment in renewables actually bought us?

26 Oct 2022 ~~ By David Strom

For decades now we have been inundated with propaganda that insists we move away from fossil fuels to renewable alternatives.
The hysteria has been escalating ever since Al Gore rebranded himself the Global Warming Ambassador at Large with the release of An Inconvenient Truth. What had been a constant but relatively muted refrain from the Left became a unstoppable roar that has only increased in volume.

How can $3.8 trillion buy you nothing? Well, it hasn’t bought exactly nothing. It has bought you a bunch of useless crap while also doing exactly what it is intended to do: transfer great amounts of wealth to the friends and families of powerful people and transfer huge amounts of power into the hands of politicians and bureaucrats who are gaining control over every aspect of our lives.

President Obama, who warned about rising sea levels wiping out our coastlines, bought an oceanside estate after leaving the White House. Pretty much everybody in the political elite lives in an area that will be flooded by sea level rise and battered by worsening hurricanes if the climate change predictions proved to be true. Yet they live in zillion dollar estates in the danger area paid for by money they collect while warning of impending doom.
It is a scam. A fraud. A confidence game. Watch what they do, not what they say. The nation’s capitol is right on the ocean and every single one of these people is desperate to rule from there.
As with everything else these days, politics and rhetoric have replaced the search for truth and rational policy discussions. Our leaders are con men, the American people are being scammed, and power and money are being concentrated into the hands of the few.

Commentary:
Meanwhile Barry Obama as a new home on the island of Oahu along with Martha's Vineyard and D.C. and Chicago homes.
How can we forget Solyndra. The future belongs to companies like this.
One of the things that the climate change clowns fail to acknowledge is that CO2 is a element in the atmosphere. Without CO2, life doesn’t exist. If I remember correctly, CO2 is 0.04 % of the atmosphere. I have heard that if it drops to 0.02 percent, the planet starts to die.
Has it dawned on the greenies that all the windmills and solar panels were manufactured using fossil fuels as the energy source. Will the use of renewable energy support future heavy industry? Component parts of windmills and solar panels are fabricated in China where they scoff at the idea of a fossil fuel-free industry.

We have the cheapest electric rates in the nation ... government owns the power plants, government owns the transmission lines ... and a rather large number of us in Western Oregon get our retail electric service from the government ... and it's a felony to seek electric power from any other source ...

Bonneville, The Dallas, John Day ... right there along the I-84 ... yeah, always windy ... it's the topography ... the investment has paid for itself many many many many many times over ...

Think B-17s over Germany in the 1940's ... we're not smelting that much aluminum without almost free electricity ...
